Academic Advisement: Fall 2012
Upon receiving this information you should register for your Fall 2012 courses. The
attached course schedule lists the courses and section numbers required for registration.
Please check the schedule on the College of Nursing website prior to attending your
first day of class for any time or room changes that have been made.
Students must be in compliance with all college health requirements to be able to
register for Fall courses. Fall 2011 admits are expected to monitor their
CertifiedBackground.com account on a regular basis and remain current on all
requirements. Students admitted prior to Fall 2011 must submit all health requirements
to Hope Beaty by the given deadlines. Failure to comply with college requirements will
jeopardize your participation in class and clinical experiences. Non-compliant students
will be dropped from their courses. Late registration is August 21st and requires an
additional $100.00 fee. Please contact Hope Beaty at [email protected] if you have any
questions regarding health immunization or CPR requirements.
Please note the following important information:
 Doctoral students should only register for courses at the 5000 level or above.
Please contact your mentor immediately if you have any questions related to
course registration you encounter problems in your minor area of study.
 All doctoral core courses are taught on Tuesdays.
New Students:
 You will be able to register for courses after all your student records have been
cleared. This includes health records at the Student Health Care Center.
 Registration must be completed via ISIS at www.isis.ufl.edu. In order to register
you must establish a Gatorlink account, this can be completed on the following
website http://www.gatorlink.ufl.edu/.
 Students must contact the faculty member identified as their primary mentor on
their admission letter to develop an individual curriculum plan prior to
registration. In addition, you must consult with your primary mentor in order to
appoint a secondary mentor. These two faculty members will compose your
mentoring team.
 Students will need to secure a GatorOne ID badge and pouch after they have
received a letter of admission from the College of Nursing. Both the badge and
pouch are required. Please log on to www.gator1.ufl.edu and click on the
Distance Gator 1 Card link under ID Card Services. The instructions are easy,
requiring you to download your own photos. In the “comment” area please type
in College of Nursing Student. You will be able to preview what the card will
look like, and be given the option to Finish your request. After the ID Card Office
approves your request you will receive an email that will direct you to Cashnet–
UF’s online payment system – to pay for your card ($15), badge holders ($1.25),
and shipping ($5).

Orientation has been scheduled for Thursday, August 16th on the Gainesville
campus. Orientation is a mandatory part of your transition into graduate studies
and will provide you with the information needed for success in the program.
The agenda will be sent to you via email and it will be posted on the College of
Nursing website at a later date.
Continuing Students:

Students taking courses outside the University of Florida, must enroll in graded
courses and attain a grade of B or better. The Graduate School will not approve
S/U courses for transfer. Please contact Cecile Kiley ([email protected]) for
instructions on the proper procedures for enrollment in courses outside the
University of Florida.

If you encounter problems in your minor area of study, consult your mentor or
your supervisory chair immediately to assist you in negotiating within the
University System.


Advanced Research and all graduating students must register for 6 credits of
NGR 7980. Please contact your mentor if you have questions related to this
