They currently partner with Berkeley High School, Oakland Technical High School, and the Peralta Community College District and are expanding to new school districts throughout the Bay Area. Students receive a Certificate of Achievement in Bioscience upon completion of the program. Provide academic and vocational learning opportunities for underserved and underrepresented youth in biotechnology Provide job training opportunities (such as paid internships) for program participants Provide workforce development training for program participants Provide job placement support to participants who have received the Biotech Partners community college program Certificate of Completion in Bioscience Mostly 11th and 12th grade Will expand to 9-12 grade in next few years Internships Co-hort of classes- Biology, English, Geography/Health Biology with an influence of Biotechnology Academy Field trips, social get-togethers and invitations to hear guest speakers associated with Biotechnology Academy. 10th grade courses to be designed in 201516 Period Period Period Period Period Period Period 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Algebra 1 or Geometry English 9 Biology Geography/Health Foreign Language Physical Education (Elective) Available online and in SMHS counseling office.
