OPENING DATE: Feb. 4th CLOSING DATE: March 24th Note: Entries must be received by the Closing Date Incomplete entries will be billed at $10 per incomplete competitor or missing form. NYUC 2015 Regional Quiz Entry Form (one per team or partial team) 2. NYUC 2015 Quiz Volunteer Form 3. USPC Uniform Chaperone Rules/Duties Form 4. NYUC Deposit Form and Photocopied Club Check 5. **USPC Activity & Rally Release Form (nonmembers must sign the release) Note: Each competitor MUST wear an armband containing a copy of his/her Medical Form. No personal checks. Refunds are $15 with medical excuse. Entries are limited and will be filled on a first come first serve basis in order of date received. Priority will be given to Pony Clubbers with National Intent in Quiz. RULES: The Quiz will be conducted in accordance with the 2015 USPC Handbook and Rules for Quiz Competition. The Quiz will consist of classroom, barn, stations, Mega-Room and a written test. (Paddock boots and helmets are not required). DIVISIONS: Pony Clubbers will compete in divisions according to age (as of January 1, 2015) and rating, in teams of three or four. Junior D/Unrated - 12 years of age or less Senior D/Unrated - 13 years of age and up Junior C - 14 years of age or less Senior C - 15 years of age and up Regional competitors under the age of 10 may be submitted, at the discretion of the DC. C level competition may be opened to college level teams, Horsemaster’s and guests. Details TBD. Each team must designate one member as a Captain. The organizer will select a Captain for any scramble teams. Nationals Intent Competitors are required to be at least 10 years old as of January 1, 2015. STARTING TIME: Registration starts at 7:00 AM. Volunteer briefing is at 7:30 AM. Competitor briefing is at 8:00 AM. Please arrive and register promptly. No study materials will be allowed into the competition areas. Please leave study material in your car. FOOD: Please bring a bag lunch, snacks will be available. Fast food and delis are located nearby. Please bring a snack to share. CHAPERONES: A chaperone is needed for every team or for every four scramble competitors. Chaperones must be nonmembers, 21 years of age or older and have read, signed and submitted a Uniform Chaperone Rules/Duties Form. The chaperone must be available if needed for their team and therefore should not be counted towards the clubs volunteer obligation; however, some jobs such as room steward may be performed by chaperones. VOLUNTEERS: We cannot run this event without the help of volunteers. We need a MINIMUM of two volunteers per team or four scramble competitors. Extra volunteers are welcome. Room size is limited; volunteers get a great view of the proceedings! Include Volunteer Form with entry. AWARDS: Ribbons for teams to 8th place in each division. There are perpetual trophies for the team high score in each division. CHAMPIONSHIPS: National competitors must be 10 years old or older as of January 1, 2015 and be rated D2 or above by March 24, 2015 (the closing date of the regional qualifying rally). Any D2 or D3 Pony Clubber wishing to try out for Championships in Lexington, VA must send in the National Intent Form and attachments signed by the applicant, parent/guardian and the DC to VRS Martha Ruff, 8 Spingvale Rd., Croton On Hudson, NY 10520 ([email protected]). These forms must be received by March 24, 2015 (the closing date of the regional qualifying rally). Please also make note of your national intent on your entry form. Parent or legal guardian must be present at the National Candidates Team Meeting to organize the team(s) and chaperone(s) going to Championships and to plan for practices, pay entry fees, and fill out paperwork.
