Configure O365 account on Android Devices
Set up Email on Android phones
This guide lists the steps for setting up your Android phone for your Office 365 email account. The example
shown is a Samsung phone. However email configuration setting depends upon the Android versions or
the phone manufacturer’s modification done to a phone.
You can download official Microsoft Outlook app from Google Play Store.

From the Applications menu, select Email. This application may be named Mail on some versions of
Android.
Type your full email address, for example, User Name: Bill Baker Email ID: [email protected], and
your password, and then select Next.

Select Exchange. This option may be named Exchange ActiveSync on some versions of Android.

Enter the following account information, and then select Next.
Domain\Username: Type your full email address in this box. If Domain and Username are separate boxes
in your version of Android, leave the Domain box empty, and type your full email address in the Username
box.
Note: On some versions of Android, you must use the domain\username format. For example, if your
email address is [email protected], type SOVHEALTH\[email protected]. Your user name is
your full email address.
Password: Enter your email account password..
Exchange Server: Type the address of your Exchange server. If you’re connecting to your Office 365 email
use outlook.office365.com for your server name.

As soon as your phone verifies the server settings, the Account Options screen opens. The options
available depend on your version of Android and may include the following:
Email checking frequency: The default setting is Automatic (push). When you select this option, email
messages are sent to your phone as they arrive. We recommend selecting this option only if you have an
unlimited data plan.
Amount to synchronize: This is the amount of mail you want to keep on your mobile phone. You can
choose from several retention options, including One day, Three days, and One week.
Notify me when email arrives: If you select this option, your mobile phone notifies you when you receive
a new email message.
Sync contacts from this account: If you select this option, your contacts are synchronized between your
phone and your account.

Select Next, and then type a name <Sov Health> for this account and the name you want displayed when
you send email. Select Done to complete the email setup and start using your account.

Note: You may need to wait 10-to-15 minutes after you set up your account before you can send or
receive email.
Note: Outlook for Android requires a device running Android 4.1 or higher. If the app is incompatible with
your device, you can add your account by using the mail app that comes with your device. See, Set up
email using the Android mail app.
Select the mail account you want to add.
Enter your email address, password and optional description, and then tap Sign in.
Set up email for your account using the Android mail app
Tap Settings > Accounts > Add account > Email.
Type your full email address, for example [email protected], and your password, and then select
Next.

Select Exchange.

If prompted, accept the defaults on the Exchange server settings page, and select Next. If your device
can't connect, enter the following account information, and then select Next.

Domain\Username: Type your full email address in this box, for example, [email protected]. If
Domain and Username are separate text boxes in your version of Android, leave the Domain box empty
and type your full email address in the Username box.
Password: Enter your email account password..
Exchange Server Use the address of your Exchange server. The server for Office 365 is
outlook.office365.com

As soon as your phone verifies the server settings, the Account Options page displays. Select the options
for how you want to receive your mail, and then select Next.

If you see Remote Security administration? Page, say Ok.

Type a name for this account and the name you want displayed when you send e-mail to others.
Select Next to complete the email setup and start using your account.
Note: You may need to wait 10-20 minutes after you set up your account before you can send or receive
e-mail.
Congratulation!! On successful completing the configuration of your email account.
