The aim of this meeting is to educate but also to share ideas and stimulate discussion. This we hope will improve clinical practice and encourage research to strengthen the evidence base in this field. We need you to share your ideas, research and clinical findings and present these to your peers either as a selected oral presentation or selected poster. These can be any projects related to the field of bone and joint infection whether lab based or clinical. We are asking for challenging cases to be submitted to be presented for panel and interactive audience discussion during the conference. These can also be submitted in abstract form with a view to providing slides later. So please submit the best and most thought-provoking abstracts you can muster - the team at OBIC will be very pleased to receive them. There will be prizes for the best poster and oral presentations. Dr Elham Khatamzas and Dr Matt Scarborough, OBIC Organising Committee INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS Abstract submission is via Hartley Taylor website: www.hartleytaylor.co.uk Select Conference Calendar from the Conference & Courses menu and find OBIC under the March meetings Click on “Submit Your Abstract” Register with the abstract administration system Submit your abstract, ensuring that all fields are completed accurately (main body of abstract limited to 250 words maximum) Free papers: Abstracts should state briefly and clearly the purpose, methods, results and conclusions of the work. These will be selected for oral or poster presentations Clinical case presentations: Abstracts should be clinical cases that provide challenging diagnostic and/or management issues. The presentations will be discussed in an interactive way with both panel and audience. Presentations should be succinct and highlight 1 or 2 management issues. These do not have to be exotic or rare, just challenging and possibly controversial. The clinical question(s) should be clear. If selected for presentation, results of radiological and other investigations should be relevant, concise and complete. The organising committee reserves the right (for timing reasons) to arrange an independent presenter depending on the number and nature of submissions. The deadline for submission of abstracts is 5 pm, Friday 16 th January 2015. You will be notified if your abstract has been selected by Friday 20th February 2015.
