Welcome to the YouTube app on Fetch TV
Welcome to the YouTube app on Fetch TV
The YouTube app lets you use YouTube on your TV, to:



Browse and play YouTube videos
Sign in to get access to your favorites and your other playlists
Pair a mobile device to do searches using your mobile or tablet
Before you start
You’ll need a YouTube account for accessing favorites and playlists, and a Google account for signing
in (see Page 11).

Open the YouTube app

1. To open YouTube on Fetch TV, press Menu on your Fetch TV remote to bring up the main
menu.
2. Select Featured from the Apps menu and press

Tip: You can also search YouTube from a paired mobile or tablet (see “Pair”, p14)
Searching on your TV
1. On Fetch TV, open the YouTube app.
2. Select
Search.
3. Use your Fetch TV remote to type in a search term.
4. And then select a video from the list of matching videos.
Tip: You can filter the list of search results by All or HD content.

Browse videos on YouTube by playlists like Most Popular, YouTube Trends, Health & Beauty, and
more.

on your Fetch TV remote to browse to a playlist.

Channels
YouTube automatically prioritises the most popular and highest quality content into channels so you
get to enjoy the best YouTube has to offer.

Add to Playlist
If you are signed into your YouTube account (see Page 11) you can add a video to one of your own
Playlists.
1. While playing a video, view the video info and select

Sign In
Sign in to your YouTube account to access your Playlists, Favorites, and more.
1. On your TV, select Sign In to display an activation code.

2. On your computer or mobile device, open your web browser and go to the URL
youtube.com/activate
3. If prompted, sign into your Google account. Then follow the on screen prompts to enter the
activation code, and make sure to select Allow Access.

4. Once signed in, select Account to play your Favorites, Playlists, and Uploads.

Tip: You can also see personalized video recommendations by selecting What to Watch.
Signing out of your YouTube account
You will stay signed in to YouTube on Fetch TV even if you close and reopen the app.
To sign out of YouTube, on your TV, select Account, then Sign out.

Pair your mobile
Pair a mobile device to browse for YouTube content directly from your mobile or tablet and then
play it on your TV.
1. On your TV, select Settings, then Pair to display a pairing code.

2. On your mobile device’s browser, go to the URL youtube.com/pair
3. Type in the pairing code displayed on your TV. Select Add.

4. You can now search for a video on YouTube through the YouTube website on your mobile
device, and play it back on your TV (see “Playing a video”, p9).
Tip: If you have an Android device, you can pair to your set top box through the YouTube
mobile app, available on the App store.
Unpair your mobile
1. To unpair your mobile or tablet from YouTube on Fetch TV, select Settings, then Pair.
2. Select Clear Paired Devices.
