The Old Vic
The Old Vic has been a landmark theatre in London and the home of great productions for
nearly 200 years. The Old Vic is now entering a seminal time in its history as we draw towards
the close of Kevin Spacey’s extraordinary eleven year Artistic Directorship and launch the
inaugural season of our new Artistic Director, Matthew Warchus, in September 2015. This
offers us, our audiences, and our partners a unique period of celebration, change and
rejuvenation. Matthew will build upon all we have achieved during Kevin’s tenure, creating a
vital programme of work that will ensure our productions remain resonant and relevant to
21st century audiences, and upholding The Old Vic’s world class reputation.
As important as our work on stage, our dynamic outreach programme Old Vic New Voices has
been integral to The Old Vic’s success and it has a thriving future ahead. Through Old Vic New
Voices we support young actors, directors, writers and producers to learn their craft; we invest
in groundbreaking programmes in schools to raise aspiration among young people; and we use
theatre skills to work with charities and local organisations to enable those in the community to
participate in what we do.
The Team
The Old Vic New Voices team is led by the Director and also includes the Education and
Community Manager and the Old Vic New Voices intern. This team is supported by a network
of freelance artists and administrators.
