prayer into your daily life. Our parish staff can also help guide you in exploring different prayers forms or
attending prayer services.

FAITH REFUGE OUTREACH
The Pastoral Council has established an outreach at
Faith Refuge by providing and serving an evening
meal once a month. The Council would like to extend
this opportunity to members of Our Lady Queen of
Peace. Only 4-5 members are needed on a given night
to prepare and serve the meal. Please come and join
us in extending this ministry to the Residents of the
Women’s Faith Refuge. If interested in this ministry,

The Need is dire and year round.
Please be generous with your donation of food.
Critical Needs: Cereal, Rice, Pasta, Spaghetti sauce, Tuna, Oatmeal, Jelly
(small jars), Crackers and Family-size toiletries - all kinds (bar soaps).
Eyeglasses: prescription or reading glass that you don’t need. These items go

DCYC (diocesan Catholic youth conference) is July 10-12. DCYC is open to
incoming 9 through graduating 12th graders. Join 800-1000 Catholic high
school youth from our entire diocese as we come to “#knowloveserve” led by
the brilliantly amazing Chris Padgett and Sr. Mary Madeline Todd, O.P. and of
course the Most Reverend Bishop Michael Olson will be with us for Mass! Cost
is $150 and as always scholarships are available. 15/16 Form A, Form B and

CFW (Camp Fort Worth).
The Diocesan based service week is for incoming 10th graders through
graduating seniors. Camp is like no other experience we offer through the OLQP
youth ministry. Part being the hands and feet of Christ, part genuine encounters
with Christ, part unimaginable fun, part eating more food than you ever though
possible, and part making life long friends, CFW is not to be missed! There are
two options for CFW this summer and OLQP can take 8 youth to each camp, so
please sign up soon as CFW fills up extremely fast. June 21-26@ St. Mary’s in
Gainesville and July 19-24 @ St. Vincent de Paul in Arlington. Cost is $125
and as always scholarships are available, we want your youth to participate and
nothing should hinder them having a CFW experience! To register 15/16 Form A,
Form B and Code of Conduct and we will take the first 8 for each camp or until
CFW registration is full. Registration can be found on our website, in the office
or the bulletin board in the Narthex.

Summer Sizzle! Come join in a summer of fun and food. Our evenings will
begin with Mass at 6:15, and then we will move over to the YOUTH hall for
games (board, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, ga-ga, kick ball, etc or a movie. Each
night we will fire up the grill for burgers and hotdogs. All middle school and high
school youth are welcome! Must have a 15/16 Form A and B on file.

How can Jesus not know everything God knows?
Mark 13:32 says of the end of the world, “But of that day or hour, no one
knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” If
Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit are one, how can Jesus not know
everything God knows?
In our studies about Jesus, Christology, we believe Jesus is 100 percent
human and 100 percent divine. Two natures in one person. That is a mystery.
So when Jesus says he does not know the day of the end of the world, he
means that his human nature does not know.
That same doctrine is the way we understand how Jesus as divine could
die—that is, his human part. That is how the Lord entered into our history and
can really save us: He is truly one of us.
Every person has free will. That means our choices are not predetermined.
God knows all our possible choices and how those choices will affect the
world. So there are multiple possible futures. God knows them all, so God
does know when the world will end.
The human mind cannot conceive every possible choice and every
possible effect. So just as Jesus had to learn to speak, in his humanity he
cannot know all possible futures.

Why do Catholic churches display crucifixes?
Many Christian churches display simple crosses or other peaceful symbols
of their faith. Non-Catholics wonder why we choose instead the crucifix, which
can be a disturbing image.
The crucifix is not just part of our Catholic identity. The Catholic Church
requires that a crucifix be visible during the celebration of Mass to remind us
of the sacrifice of Jesus on the altar of the Cross, which is made present for us
each time we celebrate the Holy Eucharist. It is a powerful representation of the
body and blood Jesus shed for us.
To Catholics, the crucifix is a symbol of the ultimate act of love. A cross recalls
the Resurrection and Jesus’ triumph over death. That is important to us, too. But
to fully understand our own redemption, we need to be reminded of what Jesus
had to endure, namely his Passion and death, before the Resurrection. We are
also reminded that God gave his only Son for our salvation. The Crucifix is a full
image of our redemption.
TRINITY SUNDAY (B)
Dt 4:32-34, 39-40 / Rom 8:14-17 / Mt 28:16-20
When I was a young girl, I used to imagine I was adopted. This had
nothing to do with loving my parents and family, which I did. I think it was
one of the many steps in dealing with the life questions, “Who am I” and
“Who do I belong to?”
Later in my life, I met people who were actually adopted, and one said
the experience of being adopted gave him a much clearer sense of belonging
than I knew. “Someone chose me,” he said. “A family wanted me to belong
to them and they wanted to belong to me.”
Whenever I read today’s section of Paul’s Letter to the Romans, I
remember my friend and my own wondering. The questions of who we are
and whose we are don’t go away as we get into adulthood. New schools,
new jobs, and new family situations bring those questions into our minds,
sometimes with a force that surprises us.
There are times we feel as if we have lost ourselves and lost our way.
On other occasions, we might feel alone. When those moments come, all we
can do is trust that someone does love us and calls us to be our best selves.
In his letter, Paul reminds us who we are—the adopted children of God—
and in the process he also reminds us whose we are. We belong to God, and
we are grounded in this reality by our baptism in the name of the Father, the
Son, and the Holy Spirit.
God, in his being, is a love relationship. Is it any wonder that our belonging
grounds us in the dark times and gives us joy in the others. Is there anything
else we need to know?

Where is God when you need him?
God can be found one hundred times every day if we look for him. “So it was
you all along. Everyone I ever loved, it was you. Everything decent or fine that
ever happened to me, everything that made me reach out and try to be better,
it was you” C.S. Lewis.
When you need encouragement, God sends you a kind glance or a friendly
word. Look for his face in the person who gives it.
God surrounds us with beauty to help us think of him and remind us of his
love for us. Don’t miss the chance to appreciate a lovely garden or a mighty
tree.
When you are anxious or lonely, God comes to you in the sympathetic friend
who listens, or the stranger who smiles at you.
When we are on unfamiliar ground, God sends us a colleague to make us
feel comfortable at work or a neighbor to help us feel more at home.
Where is God when you need him? He is everywhere you are.

grace of the Holy Ghost. In accordance with the injunction of their Divine Master,
they will soon start on their mission of teaching all nations, and baptizing them

is intended to honor the mystery of One God in Three Divine Persons should
immediately follow that of Pentecost, with which it has a mysterious connection.
And yet, it was not until after many centuries that it was inserted in the cycle of
the Liturgical Year, whose completion is the work of successive ages.

Divorced and Re-married?
If you are divorced and remarried outside of the Catholic Church without a
Decree of Invalidity, or if you are married outside of the Catholic Church, you
may not partake of the Sacraments, including the reception of Holy Communion.
Until it is shown otherwise through the ministry of the Tribunal, no person is free
to enter into another marriage without the appearance or occasion of serious
sin. A divorce alone would not affect, or hinder in any way, your participation
in the Catholic Church. A divorced Catholic is free to receive the sacraments.
However, if you are divorced and have remarried, or if you are divorced and
in a new relationship, or if you are living with someone without a Decree of
Invalidity (and your former spouse is still living) you may not partake of the
sacraments, including the reception of Holy Communion).
Consider seeking a Decree of Invalidity which will enable you to return to
a full participation in the sacramental life of the Church. For more information
