YOGA & HIKING in YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK September 10-14, 2015 Experience an unforgettable yoga and hiking adventure in the majestic Yosemite National Park, California. 5 days, 4 nights of communing with nature, practicing yoga, and exploring the beauty of one of our country’s most beloved parks. All levels of yoga experience are welcome. TRIP ITINERARY Polly Dome Lakes/May Lake Including Mt Hoffman Summit: This is a great trip for beginner and intermediate backpackers. The trail up to Mt. Hoffman will take us into the land of marmots living on High Sierra summits. From the top of Mt. Hoffman , you will be able to see a breathtaking panorama that includes Half Dome and views of two river canyons in the center of Yosemite. Day 1: Backpack under 2 miles from Trailhead to May Lake Camp (approx 500 ft elevation gain) Day 2: Day Hike 3 mile to Mt. Hoffman and back to May Lake Camp (approx 1250 ft elevation gain) Day 3: Backpack 4.5 mile to Polly Dome and set up camp Day 4: Day Hike 5 mile to Polly Dome Lake and back to camp (less than 1000 ft elevation gain) Day 5: Backpack 3.5 mile from Polly Dome to Trailhead (less than 500 ft elevation gain) LOGISTICS We will spend the first 2 nights at May Lake campground (with running water, bathrooms, showers, and electricity). The other two nights will be camping in the “wild” (no running water available, no electricity, a “leave no trace policy” applies). All participants will share the load of food and gear, which will be about 10-17 lbs. Depending on the weight of the gear you bring, you may be carrying 20-30 lbs for the initial hike from the trailhead to May Lake Camp (under 2 miles). The 2 subsequent backpacking hikes will be less weight, as we consume food and water each day. Two hikes will be camp-based, meaning you won’t be carrying a load besides a day pack. We will have a yoga session either in the morning before our hike, or afterwards, in the afternoon. Two wilderness guides will lead the hikes, as well as cook all our meals. Food is locally sourced and organic when possible. INVESTING IN YOU $999 includes 4 night tent accommodations (either double or single), daily yoga session, all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and water), professional wilderness guides, wilderness permits, tents, bear cans, and backpacks (if needed). You will need to bring your own sleeping bags/pads, yoga mat and personal clothing/items. $300 deposit is required to reserve your spot. Balance is to be paid by August 15, 2015.
