~Prologue~ ~Looking towards the Future~ By: Wacovean ~Previously~ After entering Canterlot the capital of Equestria as well as going inside the castle, and then in the throne room where a family of three meets the sun princess Celestia, the love of my life from fifty years ago was the last I saw of her until now? Not only that I also encountered the two souls of my previous lives; Liberty Wing and Paper that were also royal guards at the time. They were the ones that told me to follow my destiny and if I fall a stray they will guide me, and put me back on the pathway, and that I shouldn’t hide who I truly am; especially to the one that I love most of all. So with courage I revealed myself to Celestia as to what I truly am; a male Alicorn and how I made a solemn promise to her that I will never leave her side, nor make her cry again because of my actions long ago. ** ** ** ** ** ** ~And now~ So after some shocking events that recently took place on that spring morning at the castle and in the throne room of Canterlot, which Celestia was so overjoyed that she descended down from her throne and swoops Silver Shine in a warm embrace that caught him off guard. While his parents watched them; happy to know that the princess of the sun is smiling after so many long years, of pretending to be happy, and now she can reveal her true self once again. But then a cold hard truth was to be made to keep Silver Shine’s true identity a secret, until the right possible moment to reveal that he’s an Alicorn and that is when Sliver says, “I have an idea,” as best he could from the hug he was in. Celestia released her hold but kept him close to her, “And what may that be?” she asks. Silver clears his throat and says, “Why not tell the citizens of Canterlot that I just became your personal student.” Celestia blinks, “Why that’s an excellent idea, Silver. What do you think princess,” said Glimmer Star. Celestia lowers her head as she runs the idea through her head, after a few minutes later she lifts her head up, nods with a smile, “That’s a great idea,” she said. But then frowns, “But what about his appearance, I could come up with a spell to make it happen?” Glimmer Star smiles, “That won’t be necessary princess, but thank you for the offer though,” she said politely. Celestia blinks, “What do you mean by that?” “Well princess it’s best to show you, than to tell you.” Celestia nods her head, “Okay, please show me then.” Glimmer Star nods her head and says, “Well Silver it’s up to now my son.” Silver nods his head, as he got out of the comfortable embrace of Celestia’s left wing, shakes his body a bit to get the feeling back in his body; along with his winds flapping a bit in the process. Now in front of them he closes his eyes and concentrates as he lights up his horn to perform the spell as a gush of magic began to surround Silver in a circle of bright blue; “What’s going on here?” asked Celestia. “I really do not know? Silver said it’s a simple magic spell, but I did not teach him the spell though,” said Star Struck watching his son in astonishment of the large amount of magic that is flowing around and surrounding him like the wind, but in this case you can see it. Celestia blinks as she says, “I see, and as I continue to stare I cannot help but take notice that this looks like advance magic to me, even if it looks like transformation magic?” Star Struck smiles, “That’s because it is a transforming spell, a very high level one at that?” he said politely. Celestia’s eyes widen in shock, “How can that be, a young colt at his age shouldn’t be able to perform this kind of magic? Let alone have a high quantity of magic like this, even if he is an alicorn?” “You seemed a bit shocked princess?” said Glimmer Star. Celestia sighs as she closes her eyes, “A bit shocked; yes. But more amazed than ever?” she said opening her eyes slowly. Glimmer and Star looks at each other and then over to Celestia, “What do you mean by that exactly?” they said in union. Celestia giggles as she smiles, “Star Struck, I’m surprise as you should know this question by now. Since you were a prodigy among your peers, were you not?” Star Struck’s face redden as he lowers his head with embarrassment, “B-But that was a long time ago, a-and besides what does that have to do with my son anyways?” he lifts his head up with his face still flushed with red. Celestia just smiles as she leaves the past behind her, she then looks over to Silver and says, “He reminds me so much of my last student I took in, Twilight Sparkle.” Glimmer Star blinks, “You mean princess Twilight; the princess of Friendship?” Celestia nods her head, “The one and only, but unlike Twilight who had raw and uncontrollable magic at the time when she was a filly. Though Silver on the other hoof, who doesn’t have that problem with his magic abilities, but,” she trails off. Star Struck blinks, “But what princess; and is it because he’s an alicorn as well?” he said worriedly. Celestia just smiles and shakes her head, “No it doesn’t have anything to do with him being an Alicorn?” “Then what could it be?” asked Glimmer Star. “Well, he does show great potential but he’s using more magic in a single spell, which can ultimately drain him to the point of exhaustion. And if he’s not too careful with that kind of magic, he would…he would,” Celestia lowers her gaze with a hurt and sad expression. “He would eventually lose his life in process,” Star Struck pointed out. Celestia didn’t say anything, as for Glimmer Star; her eyes widen in fear and shock because after so many times that Silver has shown her the spell, she didn’t know that it would have some dire consequences; especially with the life of her own son. And that very moment her motherly instincts kicked into overdrive, “SILVER! Silver please stop this; please just stop?” she cries out with tears coming down her face. At once the magic that was surrounding Silver and his horn dissipates without a trace, he then blinks a few times as he arches his eyebrows of the sight before him; of his mother with a worried expression on her face and in tears, “What’s going on here? Why are you crying Mama?” with confusion in his voice. Glimmer Star was about to rush over to her son and hold him for dear life, but got stopped by Star Struck’s front right foreleg in from of her. She blinks as she looks over to her left at her beloved, who is staring at her from a right side glance shaking his head, which means ‘Don’t!’ in body-language. Glimmer Star sat down on her hunches with her ear flattened on her head with the tears rolling down her face; with her head turned to the right. As for Star Struck; he blinks as he looks back in front of him lowering his foreleg down in the process, as he sees Celestia casually walking over to Silver instead. When Celestia came walking up to Silver slowly, he frowns with confusion, “Celestia are you,” is about all he could say when he got swiftly pulled into a hug. “Celestia?” he asks this time around with worry in his voice; as he’s in Celestia’s embraced. Celestia didn’t answer back as she slightly tightness her hold a bit; as she embraces the one pony she loves. As for Silver Shine who squints his eyes from the sudden tightness in Celestia’s hug, and was about to say something when he hears sobbing above him; so looking upward his eyes widen in shock, “Celestia please tell me what’s wrong? Did I do something to make you cry?” now with concern in his voice. Celestia looks down at Silver with teary eyes, “It was your magic?” in a concerning voice. Silver Shine blinks, “My magic, what about it?” he asks. “You were channeling a lot of magic moments ago; and I feared the,” she stopped in the middle of her sentence when a hoof gently touches her left check. So Celestia blinks and looks down to see Silver with a warm smile on his face, “Silver,” she choked up. Silver closes his eyes with a sigh and says, “Celestia, I promised you that I wasn’t putting my life in danger, all I was doing was harnessing my magic to a focal point before I could perform a spell, nothing more,” he slowly opens his eyes to see a confused Celestia staring back at him. “Harnessing…your magic,” she says with a blank expression. Silver smiles, “Yes that would be correct, why?” Celestia has a flushed face as she releases Silver from her hold and took a few steps back, “Oh…and it’s nothing really?” she said trying to hide her embarrassment. Silver blinks a few times, but then a dumbfounded expression is on his face, ‘Right, I’m not convinced?’ he says in his head. But then he clears his throat and says, “Celestia tell me something, do you know anything about harnessing magic by any chance.” Celestia blinks this time, “I have heard about this harnessing magic before a very long time ago; and read it in some of the old books, and scrolls in the library, but it never really crossed my mind.” Silver sighs with a smile and says, “I understand. As its very understandable that harnessing magic is beyond other ponies’ capabilities; as such, it’s rarely used while casting magic is more common than anything else.” Now Silver’s parents have dumbfounded expressions on their faces, “Who are you, and what have you done with our son?” said Star Struck confused. ‘And besides that I’m a unicorn, and I didn’t know this? But how does Silver know of this harnessing, and about casting magic anyways? It doesn’t make any sense,’ he says to himself becoming more confused than ever. Silver just smiles, “I’m Silver Shine, and your son papa. Not only that I’ve known about harnessing magic for the past five years now?” he says beaming with glee. “Uh,” Star Struck mutters. But then his ears picked up a chuckling sound behind him, so turning his head around from his right his eyes widen in shock, to seeing Glimmer Star with her front left foreleg pressed up to her closed mouth, with a blushed face along with tears coming to her eyes, “Umm Glimmer Star are you alright my love?” he says. Glimmer Star nods her head but then shakes it, Star Struck arches his eyebrows, “Well, which one is it Glimmer?” All at once Glimmer Star bursts out laughing with the tears in her eyes came rolling down her face, “You two should see the looks on both of your faces, it’s priceless,” she says as she continues to laugh her head off. Star Struck’s eyes widen in disbelieving, but then his left eye twitches with annoyance, “So, I take it you knew all of this all along?” Glimmer Star nods her head, “And you didn’t even bother to mention it to me; your husband?” he said with irritation in his voice. A bit later Glimmer Star ceased her laughing and looks at Celestia and Star Struck, in which the princess took Glimmer’s amusement quite well in fact, but on the other hoof Star Struck wasn’t so thrilled with his wife’s antics, “Well, what do you have to say for yourself?” Glimmer Star didn’t answer back as she got up from her hunches, went over to her beloved, and nuzzles her forehead underneath her beloved’s chin, “What do you want me to say, hmm,” she purred brushing her left wing slightly against Star Struck’s chest. Star Struck’s eyes widen as his face began to get a deep red hue on his cheeks, if he were a pegasi he would had a wing-boner right about now, and not in a good way either; especially in front of the princess and his son, “We can talk about this later, in private even?” he says breathing heavily. Glimmer Star chuckles at her beloved’s reaction to her, when all of a sudden clearing of the throat grabbed both of their attention; as they both looked over to see Silver with a blank expression on his face, “Get a room you two?” he says with embarrassment. Glimmer and Star looks away awkwardly, “Sheesh, this is a public place after all, not only that it would seem I’m the adult here acting proper, while you two are acting like two young lovers of a filly and colt, which is supposed to be the other way around here?” Silver Shine adds. Glimmer Star and Star Struck didn’t know what to say; especially when they get caught by their son no less. But then Silver clears his throat and says, “Papa, I’ll tell you why Mama knows all this harnessing magic for. It’s because she has watched me practice for quite some time; even though she isn’t a unicorn, she still made time to watch me perfect the skill that will one day help me out. Which I couldn’t say the same thing to you, since you were too busy with other things that Mama was more than happy to help, despite her lacking in that field of magic of course.” Star Struck took all what his son had said to consideration as he thinks of what to say, but instead Celestia says, “It’s nice to hear family matters, but before we move on to pressing matters? I would like to know how you are doing in the field of flying, Silver.” Silver froze as he held his breath; and then he lowers his head down with a heavy sigh, “I don’t want to talk it?” Celestia blinks as she looks over to Silver Shine’s parents, “He can’t fly,” Star Struck points out. Silver sank lower in humiliation as he just wants to hide from what’s around him, until his ears picked up. “Well its normal, not every pony can fly right away. There are some that are late bloomers, and it just takes time for those to spread their wings and soar like a bird in the sky,” said a female voice. Silver lifts his head up when his father said, “I don’t get it, as you can see I’m not a pegasi?” “I was speaking hypothetically Star Struck,” said Celestia. Star Struck blushed as he looks away, “Oh.” “But it’s a concerning matter nonetheless, as such I will be Silver Shine’s tutor for the flying skills while he learns to control that magic side of his with the help of the teachers at my school for gifted Unicorns. And in time after he has learned all that he can, is when I will announce who Silver Shine truly is, but until then we have a lot to do in the meantime,” said Celestia looking over to Silver with a smile on her face. Silver blushes as Celestia adds, “And one more thing before I forget. Silver, you said you can change your appearance right?” “Yes, but you already know that didn’t turn out so well the last time I tried it?” said Silver pointing it out. Celestia nods her head, “Yes I remember, but this time it will be different; since I know what to expect?” she said not allowing Silver to get out of this one easily. Silver sighs in defeat, “Well at least I tried,” he said as he gets back into position. “You sure about this princess?” said Star Struck. Celestia nods her head, “Quite, and don’t you two worry I will be there with him every step of the way. I won’t let anything hinder in his studies as he’s going to be my personal student after all to teach, whereas other’s cannot.” she said with a smile. Star Struck wasn’t all to convinced, ‘Right, this isn’t going to end too well; I just know it?’ he said to himself feeling a slight chill running down his spine, like someone or something is watching him. But he ignores it as he looks over to his son, who is about to start. Over to Silver Shine, he breaths in slowly and then exhales as slowly to concentrate on the spell he wishes to use. So closing his eyes as he feels the magic building up into his horn along with it flowing around him in a circle. Concentrating a bit harder as he feels his able to fly vanishes without a trace; and felt a bit funny, but he couldn’t let up in the middle of a spell. Then all of a sudden he can sense it was the way he wanted it; so easing up on the spell then dissipating it all together, and then Silver finally opens his eyes up slowly, blinks and then looks at the others in front of him. Silver blinks at the expressions he’s receiving from Celestia and his parents, “What! What is that look for?” “Silver sweetie, you…you are a unicorn?” Glimmer Star said in astonishment. Sliver looks to left side then to his right, and then back in front of him where he smiles proudly with a little blush to his face, “I did it?” Celestia blinks as she walks over to Silver, circles one time around him and stops in front of him with a smile on her face, “I’m quite impressed Silver, but is this transformation spell temporary though?” Silver shakes his head, “Nope, I can pretty much stay in this form for a good while.” “Meaning?” asked Celestia. “Until I decide to release the spell, but if you are worried if I get stuck in this form. Then I suppose I could let it last for a good twenty-four hour period, or would you prefer I make it less than that,” said Silver. Celestia chuckles, “either way is fine, as long as you don’t get too exhausted from the continuum use of the spell. I’m just worried about your health and wellbeing Silver,” she lowers her head down to nuzzle Silver Shine’s left side. “You know that,” she adds. Silver chuckles as he leans into Celestia, “I know, and this going to one heck of a ride; especially trying to get use to not having wings will be more of an understatement. Along with going to school and staying there in the housings, and studying from books will be interesting,” he says as many things are coming to him at once. “That’s nice Silver, but I’m not going to let you stay in the housings with the other fillies and colts,” said Celestia. Silver blinks as he moves his head to look up at Celestia, “And why not?” he asks with confusion. Celestia looks down at him, “Because I said so.” “But,” he began to say when he looks over to his parents, who are staring back at him. “I see, so jealous aren’t we?” Silver says pointing it out. Celestia raises her head up, turns around and heads back to her throne, “So what if I am,” she said. Silver Shine’s eyes widen in shock as Celestia stops at the steps that lead to her throne, slightly turns her head to the left, “I just want you all to myself, is there anything wrong with that Silver,” she says looking into Silver’s eyes. Silver began to blush deeply and if he had his wings back; he wouldn’t be surprised if he got a wing-boner from the way Celestia is behaving, U-Umm, I don’t…well this is awkward,” he said stuttering his words as he couldn’t get a complete sentence out right. Celestia grins at Silver’s reaction but then became serious as she asks, “Is it wrong for me to not allow you to live in the housings at the school?” Silver blinks, “No, no it isn’t wrong, and I find it quite adorable,” he said walking over to Celestia. Once he stops beside her, Silver looks up and adds, “Beside, you are the only pony that I will ever see, as my first and only somepony. Thus I wouldn’t look at the other fillies like the way I would you, or felt about being around you either. So you don’t have to worry about a thing Celestia, I give you my word on that,” he says with a determination smile on his face. Celestia sighs with a smiles, “Okay, I’ll just have to trust your judgment on your actions; also I have to fill in the paperwork to enroll you to the school of gifted unicorns,” she said as she ascends up to her throne, sits down and looks down at the Silver and his family. She then clears her throat, “ But before that happens, I have to make announcement that you are going to become my personal student who is eager to learn from the best of the best, after your studies from the school of gifted unicorns of course, and then you will become my protégé in the end. Though when the time finally comes that you are ready to face what’s out in this world, I will announce the reveal to everypony who you truly are, until then I can only wish you good luck on your future goals; my beloved,” she said proudly. Silver smiles as he heads back over to his parents, stands between and waits for what is to come in his young colt life, as Celestia dispels the barrier spell so that no pony could hear what was going on in the throne room itself, and clears her throat again and calls out, “SOLDIER!” in the royal Canterlot voice. The doors to the throne room opens and a soldier steps presence itself, “Yes your highness,” the soldier bows with respect. “Summon princess Twilight Sparkle here, and have the citizens gather for an important announcement in the courtyard,” said Celestia ordering out instructions? still bowing the soldier says, “At once your highness,” getting back to his stance, turns around and heads out of the throne room issuing out orders from her highness, princess Celestia. And so from that point every soldier rush out into the streets of Canterlot spreading word of an important announcement, as such, word has also traveled swiftly over to Ponyville Kingdom about the news, and that Twilight herself is needed to be there, “I’m on my way, who knows what princess Celestia will be discussing at this very important announcement?” she said teleporting herself to Canterlot Castle where other ponies have gathered in the courtyard waiting for the important announcement from the ruler of Equestria. ~At Canterlot Castle again~ Where the balcony is, which is facing the courtyard with all the lovely flowers and a few water-fountains in the center, not only that royal guards are guarding the surrounded area at the moment, and is also being surrounded by the citizens of Canterlot with a certain princess among the crowd waiting with anticipation of what will be announced. Meanwhile on the inside of the castle that is right in front of the balcony, Silver Shine starts to pace around the room nervously, “I don’t know about all this, it’s just too soon right?” he said stopping briefly to look over his parents for the answer. But his parents just smiled warmly at him, which didn’t help any at all until a large white wing came to rest over his backside. Silver blinks and looks up from his right, “Celestia.” Celestia smiles down at Silver, blinks, and lowers her had down as she nuzzles his right cheek with her left cheek, “Everything is going to be alright,” she said with encouragement. “You sure,” Silver said still with a bit of doubt in his voice. Celestia chuckles as she raised her head up, removes her left wing from Silver Shine’s back, and strolls on over to the balcony. But then stops halfway there tilting her head to the left with her eyes gleaming from the light outside and says with a smile, “Trust me Silver, and believe with your heart my love?” Silver blushes with a deep red hue to his cheeks and nods his head, “Okay, I’ll believe in your judgment on what will happen here today.” Celestia smiles as she turns her head back around, and walks forward again out onto the balcony in front of all her subjects. Where the citizens of Canterlot cheered and applauded to see the sun princess Celestia before them, and that is where Celestia raised her right front hoof up to quiet her citizens. Celestia then clears her throat and began to speak, “My citizens and subjects of Canterlot, I have summoned you all her because I have some wonderful news. As it’s a heavy heart that I present to you all, my new personal student whom will also be attending the school of gifted unicorns.” There was a moment pause where everypony is trying to process this turn of events when Celestia continues, “So allow me to introduce you all to Silver Shine.” Out into the crowd many of the nobles were gossiping away, like what kind of unicorn has that kind of name, to this young unicorn must have great connections to being the princess’s personal student. Though among the crowd other nobles could not wait to see this young unicorn, and at how well he or she will behave in front of a huge crowd. So back inside the room of the castle that leads out onto the balcony, Silver Shine still feeling a bit nervous when he heard his name being called by Celestia from the balcony. Silver looks back to his parents who nod their heads with a smile, “I believe you will do just fine my son,” said Glimmer Star smiling proudly. “Just go with confidence Silver, and you will go far in life,” said Star Struck with a grin on his face. Silver began to get emotional from the words his parents said to him, but he shook his head clearing it out from feeling doubtful and smiles with confidence, and that is when he got the courage to walk forward with his head held high, as he was ready to meet up with Celestia on the balcony. So as Silver walks out onto the balcony where it’s sunny out with no clouds in sight, over to where Celestia is standing at. Celestia turns her head over to the left and smiles to see Silver coming over to her, “Are you ready Silver?” she whispers to him. Silver blinks and nods his head, “Yes, yes I am?” he says nervously. Celestia smiles as she knows that Silver Shine is nervous, so turning her head back in front of her, ‘I mean what pony wouldn’t be, being the center of attention for everypony to see. I should know, as it’s still not easy for somepony like me?’ Celestia said to herself. That is when Celestia clears her throat once again, “My citizens allow me to introduce once again, Silver Shine.” At that very moment Silver got his nervous under control as he rears up on his hind-legs, and placed his front hooves on the railing in front of him. In doing so the crowd gasps to seeing such a young colt before them, but then a burst of cheering came forth. Silver blinks as she cheeks began to get a red hue to them, as he became embarrassed to having this much attention towards him in just one day. He didn’t know what he should do now, so looking to his right at Celestia for the answer, as for Celestia she tilts her head to the left smiling, “Go ahead and wave to them, and if you want you can say something as well,” in a cheery voice. Silver nods his head as he looks back in front of him, rises his front left hoof up, and waves to everypony, “It’s nice to meet you all, “ he said with a smile. That is when the cheering exploded in the crowd to finally meet Silver Shine, as some of the nobles are pleased to see the young colt especially since he was chosen as princess Celestia’s personal student. But other nobles will have to disagree about how did this Silver Shine became the princess’s personal student, and if he’s powerful enough to even preform magic. Though unknown to everypony in the crowd a single pony mare, an alicorn princess named Twilight Sparkle watches in secret at the new personal student named Silver Shine, and then over at her former teacher standing beside him. Twilight smiles proudly because something about this young colt beside Celestia; will bring great happiness to her former teacher, ‘He reminds me so much of myself when I was a filly, except I was picked by Celestia herself from when I could not control the raw magic inside of me, and I turned my own parents into plants from an explosion that came in the middle of a test that would have gotten me into the school of gifted unicorns. But after studying under Celestia’s guidance, finding friendship from the friends that I made in Ponyville, and here I finally stand as a transformed unicorn into an alicorn like that of my sister-in-law before me. Hopefully this young Silver Shine will be the same, as he will be the very first male to becoming an alicorn,’ she said to herself still watching from afar. So back at the balcony where Silver is still waving his hoof when he dropped it down on the railing, turns his head behind him from his left, and sees his parents smiling still from inside the room of the castle at how proud they are with tears coming from their eyes. At that moment a tug from within Silver’s chest is telling him to leave the balcony at once, and rush over to his parents and cry in their warm embrace, but he had to hold all the emotions that he feels right now inside him before other ponies would think that he’s too soft. So instead of worrying about it Silver then turns his attention over to Celestia, where she’s smiling down at him in a caring way, which is making him blush a bit as he turns his attention back in front of him at the crowd. That moment Silver Shine smiles as a gentle breeze came by brushing against his coat and mane, knowing that this will be his first big step of finding out what he is truly meant to do in this vast world of Equestria. Also who knows what the future will be like in the coming days ahead of him; only time can truly tell? ~To be Continued in part 1-Encounter~
