Mudshark HF3
The OTR Mudshark HF3 is a heavy duty high performance HF3 tire with a high
bead ratio (HBR) option. For the HBR, the patented OTR innovation to change
the aspect ratio of the tire is beneficial. The HBR boasts a shortened sidewall
while maintaining a standard tire outside diameter (OD).

IND-3
The OTR IND-3 is a premium quality long wear mine service tire. With its
abrasion resistant tread compound and bias ply design, this tire provides
excellent traction and cut protection. Additional features include wide zig zag
lugs for both lateral and forward traction, thick sidewalls and shoulder area
for added casing protection, and a specially formulated sidewall compound
that resists weathering, cracking and gouging.

Flat Proofing Options
The why and how to flat proof –
Off the road tires operate in a wide variety of
challenging environments. They must provide
traction, wear and handling while simultaneously
providing reduced rolling resistance. The problem
with “pneumatic tires” is they may go flat from
punctures, foreign objects becoming stuck and
cuts. Flat tires are a major inconvenience no
matter what vehicle or equipment application.
Flat Proofing is a financial decision that should
be determined by your equipment application,
operating conditions, where your equipment is
used and loads and speeds.
There are several methods of flat proofing

Flat Proofing Options from OTR
Tire Sealant – OTR offers tire sealant as a flat-proofing option.
Polyurethane Tire Liner or OTR Tire Liner – Tire liner is a
permanent, self-healing urethane rubber sheet that is securely
adhered to the inside of the tire casing. Tire liner heals over
cuts, punctures and penetrating objects, and will prevent tires
from going flat if punctured or cut by objects up to ¼” in
diameter.
Polyurethane Foam Filled Tires – OTR Wheel Engineering and
all of its associated divisions are recognized as being the largest
supplier of foam filled tire/wheel assemblies in North America
by volume of foam pumped annually.
Polyurethane Foam fill process involves the precise
mixing of two components and pumping the blended
polymer into tires through a high pressure pump.
Solid tires that can be pressed on to wheels – Solid tires offer significant benefits for the right applications, particularly within industrial settings. That’s because severe jobs require a heavy-
duty tire, and schedules often do not allow for flats, repairs and replacements.
Steel wheels with molded on rubber tires such as what are used in Aerial Work Platform (AWP)
applications.
Airless and semi-pneumatic tires – Airless and semi-pneumatic tires are
non-pneumatic tires that are specially made as such in that they are flat
proof because they do not rely on an air chamber to inflate the tire to
support a load. Thus they are non-pneumatic.
New tire products with Aramid belts in the tread –
Aramid belts are used in tires to enhance strength,
resistance, flat proofing and traction to tires. Aramid
belted tires can be made with nearly any of OTR’s
premium line of pneumatic tires. OTR can customize
your tire order with an Aramid belt layer to add
additional life to your tires.

Wheel Inspection REPAIR AND RECERTIFICATION SERVICES
OTR Wheel Engineering is qualified and experienced in the
specialized business of wheel “inspection, repair and recertification.”
OTR Wheel Engineering has been in the business of inspecting, repairing
and recertifying wheels since 1987. Since its inception, OTR has had access
to factory sections, special discs, technical specifications and engineering
support to repair, recondition and recertify wheels used in earthmoving,
mining, forestry, heavy duty off road truck and industrial applications.
Customers utilizing our inspection and repair services include excavating
companies, surface mines, underground mines, quarry operations, timber
harvesters, steel mills and service companies, construction companies,
port container handling operations and a variety of other heavy industrial
applications.
Tracking Programs –
OTR offers a unique database Tracking Program where wheels are tracked
by serial number, wheel position on the machine, hours of service and
maintenance actions performed. OTR’s Tracking Program was pioneered by
our Canadian division and is a key component in an ISO certified inspection
and recertification process.
OTR can track the complete history of inspections and repair actions done to
wheels. Wheels can be tracked from the time they are entered into service
to the time they are scrapped or retired from service. The program is trusted
and proven with over 11 years of wheel history in a database covering over
25,000 serial numbers tracked. The data analysis from the Tracking Program
has been used to identify and proactively correct reoccurring wheel issues.
The results from wheel improvement have been enhanced wheel safety and
the reduction of down time for expensive equipment.

Wheel Definitions
PARTS OF A WHEEL
Wheel – The rotating part of the vehicle that carries the load of the vehicle and passes the torque. The wheel is located between the tire and the hub. Wheels can consist of a rim and a disc assembled together or just the rim.
Rim – The part of the wheel that serves as the seat for the tire. Rims can be classified as single rims or multi-piece rims.
Single Piece rims have one piece rim design.
Multi-Piece rims consist of the rim as well as rings mounted on the rim.
Disc – The connecting part between the wheel and the hub of the vehicle. It can be welded on or connected with bolts to the rim.
Hub – The central part of a wheel that the shaft or axle passes through.
Bolt Pattern or Bolt Circle – The number of studs and the diameter of the circle on which they are positioned.
Stud Centered Wheel – A system where the studs on the wheel hub are used to guide and center the wheel. Chamfered bolt holes identify a stud centered wheel. These wheels are designed to be centered by conical or spherical nuts on the studs.
Hub Centered Wheel – A system that uses the actual wheel hub to guide and center the wheel. Hub centered wheels usually have straight bolt holes with no ball seat for nuts and flat washer or flange nuts. The wheels require a narrow
tolerance of center hold dimensions.
Offset – The offset is a dimension from an imaginary rim center line to the outer disc surface. A disc wheel offset can be positive, negative, or “zero-offset.” This is one of the most important dimensions of the disc wheel.

Terms of Purchase, Warranty and Returns Policy
Terms of Purchase
• Shipping Charges – All prices are F.O.B. OTR Wheel Engineering shipping facility unless otherwise noted. Customers will be notified of any extra charges for packaging of products for shipment.
• Returns – All products returned require prior authorization and are subject to a restocking charge.
• Custom made products – Customers are responsible for merchandise built to their specifications. Special payment terms are required for customer requested specifications.
• Damage and Shortage Claims – Any damage or shortage must be noted on the delivery ticket or the carrier’s freight bill at time of delivery.
• Warranty – Warranty claims will only be considered on items sold by OTR Wheel Engineering.
Warranty/Return Policy
OTR Wheel Engineering, Inc. has no control over the end use or application of its products. Should something
go wrong with parts purchased from OTR Wheel Engineering, Inc. within a period of ONE YEAR from the date
of invoice, OTR Wheel Engineering, Inc. will replace or repair the parts based on satisfactory proof of defective
workmanship or material.
Tires and rubber tracks are subject to the following premature wear, prorated credit, guidelines:
Tires: OTR will divide the purchase price by the number of months used and provide credit in a pro-rata basis of
the number of months or remaining warranty divided by 12.
a.
A tire that fails in the first month is potentially eligible for 11/12 credit or 92%.
b.
A tire that fails after 6 months is potentially eligible for 6/12 credit or 50%.
c.
A tire that fails in the 11 month is potentially eligible for 1/12 credit or 8%.
Premature wear does not cover incidents of abuse as stated in the DISCLAIMER below. The customer will be
given the percentage warranty based on wear factor.
Specific pictures of the date code, serial number, and part number will be required as part of the replacement
request.
Rubber Tracks: Continuous Rubber Belt tracks are covered against premature wear for a period of one (1) year
or 1,500 hours, whichever occurs first from the date of invoice. Original tread life is considered completed when
the track has 10% or less remaining tread in any position of its original tread depth, in any portion of its original
tread design. A pro-rata basis, according to the hours of service provided in the application as follows:
a.
0 thru 375 hours or 0-3 months is potentially eligible for 100% credit.
b.
376 thru 750 hours or 3-6 months is potentially eligible for 75% credit.
c.
751 thru 1,175 hours or 6-9 months is potentially eligible for 50% credit.
d.
1,176 thru 1,500 hours or 9-12 months is potentially eligible for 25% credit.

Warranty
Premature wear does not cover incidents of abuse as stated in the DISCLAIMER below. The customer will be
given the percentage warranty based on wear factor. Undercarriage components must be checked before installation of any new rubber tracks to be certain the components are within the OEM specifications as well.
Undercarriages with more than 600 hours of operation should be checked before installation. If the undercarriage has 1,000 operating hours or more, the sprockets and idler wheels should be replaced before the installation of the new rubber tracks. Worn undercarriages will cause improper wear of the links (inserted metal pieces)
of the rubber tracks, and will void this warranty.
Maintenance records will be requested to ensure the sprockets and idler wheels have been inspected and removed if worn and defective.
Specific pictures of the date code, serial number and part number will be required as part of the replacement
request.
Wheels: Pictures of defective wheels are required since incidents of abuse as stated in the DISCLAIMER below
are not warrantable. Serial numbers, date code, job number, part number are to be included.
Parts should not be returned to the facility without prior approval of OTR Wheel Engineering, Inc. OTR Wheel
Engineering, Inc. will reimburse freight charges for parts shipped to its facility if:
1.
OTR Wheel Engineering, Inc. has been called for authorization to ship the parts to its facilty, and,
2.
The parts are found by OTR Wheel Engineering, Inc. to be defective.
No representative, distributor or dealer has the authority to make any promise, agreement or alteration to this
return policy.
DISCLAIMER
OTR Wheel Engineering, Inc. is not responsible for any costs of repair on the machine or downtime due to product failure. OTR Wheel Engineering, Inc. is not responsible for any lost revenues due to downtime because of
pending warranty issue. OTR Wheel Engineering, Inc.’s responsibility is only for the product and assumes no
responsibility for any damages to equipment and/or property.
Due to the wide variation in uses to which OTR Wheel Engineering products (wheels, hubs, tires, assemblies,
etc.) are subjected to by users, we are unable to specify carrying capacities or speeds for a particular application:
therefore, the manufacturer must test his equipment under the most severe conditions to determine that OTR
Wheel Engineering products are suitable.
All products should be installed based on OEM Service Manual Specifications. Any damage done to OTR Wheel
Engineering products not installed to OEM specifications will be deemed the responsibility of the customer and
will not be covered under this warranty.
In addition:
1.
Failures due to overloading or use as speeds in excess of the maximum recommended speed.
Tires that have been run under inflated, or over inflated.
2.

Usage of the products outside of normal intended usage which exceed published technical performance and ratings specifications.

Uneven or rapid wear due to mechanical irregularity of the vehicle.
5.
Damage resulting from fire, accidents, chemical corrosion or vandalism.
6.
Tires exhibiting field or road hazards including cuts, puncture, impact breaks and subtle damage.
7.
Sprocket and idler wheels that have more than 1,000 operating hours.
The seven items above will be deemed the responsibility of the customer and will not be covered under this
warranty.
HOW TO FILE A CLAIM
If you believe you have a claim for warranty, contact an OTR Wheel Engineering customer service representative to receive a warranty claim form. Complete the claim for in its entirety. Claim forms not completed in their
entirety will not be considered for warranty.
Please note: the replacement product will be invoiced at the replacement billing price. Upon approval of the
warranty claim, a credit memo will then be issued to the customer for the amount of the warranty, unless otherwise specified in this warranty statement.
Terms of Warranty or Return
• Authorization – an authorization number must be obtained before returning any product.
• Handling and Restocking Charges – a minimum handling and restocking charge of 20% will be charged on all returned merchandise.
• Reconditioning – Any reconditioning cost will be deducted from the warranty credit.
• 1 Year Limit – All merchandise returned for credit must have been purchased within one year of the request for return.
• Special Made Items – Return credit for special made product will be for manufacturing defect only and not for use issues.
• Proof of Purchase – Only items originally purchased from OTR Wheel Engineering, Inc. will be considered for return.
• Account Credit – All credits will be posted to the customer’s account.
• Prepaid Shipments – All returns that are returned via common carrier must be prepaid.

OTR Wheel Ordering Guidelines. HELP US - HELP YOU!
There are tens of thousands of different wheels available to fit machines in use today. In order to help
us help you get the wheel you need, we need some information from you when you contact us. Below
is a guideline to the information you will need to consider.
Tire Size?
Radial or Bias Ply?
Tread Style?
Tire Application?
Tire operating pressure?
Operating speed of the tire under load?
can help us greatly in identifying the manufacturer, part
number or a drawing, the style of the rim/wheel, material
thickness or date and country of manufacture.
Rim or wheel?
You may be looking for a wheel or rim, but we need
to know the tire size, radial or bias, tread style and
application to figure out what kind of rim or wheel
you need. Very important! The tire size and type
dictates the style of rim or wheel that can be used
to mount the tire. Tire pressure and operating
speed tells us more about the type of rim/wheel
required for the machine and application. For
example, there is a big difference between the kind
of rim required for a 14.00-24 R1 tire used in an
agricultural application or a 14.00-24 G2|L2 used
on construction equipment or a 14.00R24 TG, or a
14.00R24 tire used on off the road truck or trailer
application.
Rim style? How many pieces?
1 piece rim/wheel. Could be one of many different
rim profiles manufactured. 2 piece (rim/wheel
and side ring/lock ring combination) 3 piece
(rim/wheel, side flange and separate lock ring)
4 piece (rim/wheel, 2 side flanges and separate
lock ring) 5 piece (rim/wheel, 2 side flanges, bead
seat band, and separate lock ring – for many, a
driver key may also be used) Super Giant wheels
used in very large mining trucks may be built
with 6, 7 or 8 pieces
Steel stampings or labels?
This is very important. Are there any identifying
part numbers or designations stamped or part
number labels on the rim/wheel? These stampings

Is the rim an open center with no disc? That would make
it a de-mountable” rim. If the rim has a disc welded to the
rim then it would be a “wheel”.
How many bolt holes are in the disc? How thick is
the disc? Is the disc flat or is it formed in a particular
shape?
Can you measure the disc offset (where the disc is welded
in the rim relative to the front of the wheel and the back
of the wheel)? If it is a wheel (a rim with a disc welded to
it) then count the holes. But, are the holes equally spaced
around the disc or are they drilled in patterns (2 holes,
space, 3 holes, space, etc…)).
What is the bolt hole pattern? Can you measure the
bolt circle? Can you measure the pilot hole?
What is the diameter of the bolt holes? Are the bolt
holes drilled straight through with no chamfers or
do they have chamfers machined into holes? Are the
chamfers on one side only or on both sides?
Where is the valve hole located on the rim? Are there
any valve guards welded on the rim/wheel?
Are there any other items welded to the rim/wheel such
as flange reinforcements, driver pockets, special valve
holders, driver blocks or other items not described
here?
You can see from all the information we need that
with all these items taken in aggregate, the number
of wheel variations can number in the hundreds of
thousands.
