Organization Mandate
La Cité is the largest French-language college in Ontario. Many of
its more than 90 training programs include the teaching of
terminology in both of Canada’s official languages (French and
English). La Cité also offers a whole range of apprenticeship
programs, in French, in the construction, motive power, service,
and industrial sectors.

Contact:
Employment Resource Centre - Provides free employment services to all Ontario residents seeking
employment and training, with a focus on those living in Orléans, Cumberland, Blackburn-Hamlet and
Navan. We also serve the communities of Casselman, Embrun, Limoges, Russell and Vars. If you are
interested in training, please refer to the Second Career information. For students looking for summer
work, please refer to our Summer Jobs Service program. Feel free to come in to our centre for assistance,
no appointment is necessary. Our Services include:
• Résumé development; Job search assistance and interview preparation
• One-on-one Employment Counselling; Career interest assessments
• Job placement with incentives; Summer Jobs for students
• Labour Market Information; Job fairs; Various workshops

Summer Jobs Services (SJS) - Connects students with employment opportunities from April to August.
Free job-search and self-marketing support is available to help students find summer jobs. A $2-perhour-per-student hiring incentive is available for eligible Ontario employers to create summer job
placements. Job search support is available year round. Summer job placements begin as early as April.
Eligibility Criteria: Returning to school in the fall, 15-30 years old, a resident of Ontario.

Formation de base de l’Ontario - Literacy and Basic Skills program which provides a French secondary
level education and academic upgrading in mathematics, communications, sciences and computers to
adults wishing to further their skills for employment, apprenticeship or postsecondary studies. Also
possibility of completing courses leading to a Grade 12 equivalency (ACE Certificate).
Eligibility Criteria: Must be 19 years of age or older, and reside in Ontario. (Newcomers are also eligible).
