East Region Soccer League & Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association District Development and Competitive Team Application Information What level is right for me? A guide to determining the appropriate level of play for meaningful competition. In order to ensure that there is an alignment of appropriate competition levels within tiers, the ERSL and EODSA will be calling a meeting of all Technical Directors and Club Head Coaches on Wednesday March 18, 2015, 6:00pm, at Nepean Sportsplex, Hall C. This meeting will provide Clubs with the opportunity to discuss and determine the best tier for their players. District Development (U9-U12) When evaluating which tier is best suited for your players it is necessary that you consider: Previous season performance; Level of competition provided by other Clubs within the District; Your Club philosophy and intention regarding progression to higher levels in the Pyramid for Play; Level of training of the players. District applications & payment are due by March 28th District Competitive (U13-U18) With the reduction in the number of teams able to compete at a regional level, a number of stronger teams will move to the District League level. District players should be training 1-2 times per week; At U13 there is no L3 which makes the second highest level of play District Competitive Tier 1. Keep in mind that this is just one step down from OPDL; For U14-U18 the third highest level of play is District Competitive Tier 1, below OYSL and Regional L3. Always consider what teams may be deciding to move up a division or down a division based on their performance last year, as well as what the elimination of L4 will mean - most of the L4 teams from 2014 will now apply for District Competitive Tier 1 with the top-finishing teams from 2014 promoted up to L3 for 2015. In many ways District Competitive Tier 1 will be the new "L4".
