ELIGIBILITY This event is only open to artists who are members of the Pacific Art Guild on registration day, April 30, 2015 (with the exception of Children’s Art, children need not be a member). Works submitted should have been completed within the last two years and not previously shown in a Pacific Art Guild annual juried show. Entries must be original works of the artists. Complete or partial copies of published photographs or published paintings are not acceptable. Works may be in any medium, including oils, watercolors (on canvas are acceptable), acrylics, pastels, colored pencils, collage, drawings, hand-pulled prints, mixed media, (no sculpture or crafts). Entries in the Members’ Theme category must adhere to the designated theme. Only one entry per member in Members Theme. Space limitations may limit the number of entries in any category. FRAMING AND SIZES All paintings must be wired for hanging, with the exception of children’s art which only needs to be matted. Entries must be dry, clean, framed and securely wired. Exception: acrylics and oils that are painted on the 4 sides/edges of the canvas need not be framed. Saw-tooth hangers are not acceptable. Works on paper must be suitably matted and framed under glass or equivalent (see exception for children’s art above). For all other categories, each entry cannot exceed 36 inches wide, including the frame. Anything wider will not fit our gallery screens. CATEGORIES AND AWARDS There are eleven categories: (1) Seascapes, Landscapes (2) Urban Landscapes (Including transportation), (3) Abstract, Surrealism, Non-Representational, (4) Portraits, Figurative, Life Drawings and Animals (mammal, fish, fowl), (5) Floral & Still Life, (6) Member Theme ”Just Green”, (7) Photography/Digital Art, (8) Miniatures, (9)Children’s Art, Pre K through 2nd Grade, (10) Children’s Art 3-5th Grade, (11) Children’s Art 6-8th Grade. The final category in which your art will appear will be determined by the Board. The Show Judge will judge all 11 categories. Categories containing fewer than 10 entries will be awarded ribbons only. There will be a Best of Show Award, with a $200 cash prize. There will be a First Place, Second Place, Third Place award in categories 1-8. For categories 1-8, the cash prize progression is $50, $30, and $20 for categories containing 15 entries or more. Up to five Honorable Mention awards will be given in each category (determined by the number of entries in that category). All winners will receive ribbons. All entries in categories 1-8 will be considered for Best of Show. All decisions of the Judge are final. Special Awards and Memorial Awards will be announced. Every person attending the show receives a ballot to vote for the Popular Award. Ballots will be counted at 3:30 PM during the Reception. The Popular Award winner and prize will be announced at the Awards Presentation. ENTRY FEES Members’ Theme Category “Just Green”: $5.00 (one entry per member). ALL Other Categories: $8.00 per entry, or $6.00 per entry for members who volunteer at least two hours of work at the show. There is no entry fee for Children’s Art. DELIVERY AND PICK-UP Artwork is to be delivered and picked up as noted on Page 1 of this Prospectus. Entries accepted must remain on display for the entire length of the show. Artwork not picked up as scheduled on Page 1 will be picked up by a board member. It will be your responsibility to make arrangements with them for pick up. Neither The Westchester Townhouse nor Pacific Art Guild will be responsible for unclaimed or other artwork. SALES AND INFORMATION Many of the paintings are for sale (see identification tags). Pacific Art Guild will act as agent between buyer and artist. Sales tax will be added to the purchase price, and 15% of the purchase price will be donated to Pacific Art Guild.
