Factory Tour
We’ve postponed our planned
MINI Factory Tour in June as
the plant is on shutdown for
most of that month. We’ll
reschedule later in 2015.

to produce a shorter and more
nimble board. In traditional
MINI fashion the board is also
extremely customisable.

Welcome to the May Edition of P&SMOC Newsletter.
Firstly I would like to thank those who voted me in as
Chairperson for 2015/16. My main aim this year is to ensure
that P&SMOC goes from strength to strength. We have a
great club with enthusiastic members who all have one
common interest, the Mini.
This year has already seen some amazing turn outs for
organised events and along with the other committee
members we are planning many more. These will include Mini
shows, classic car meets, social events and much more.
Record sales
BMW had its best March ever
with an 8.1% increase in sales
compared to last year. MINI is
one of the factors in this very
impressive sales performance,
with a 38.9% increase.

from Beaulieu’s own website)
February 6th – 8th saw the 37th Galway Rally based around the town of
Gort in County Galway, Ireland. This years rally, sponsored by Colm Quinn
BMW consisted of 14 stages over 2 days.The event saw 77 entries, 14 juniors
& 10 historic, this included 2 WRC MINIs, No.3 crewed by Eugene
Donnelly & Paul Kiely & No.6 Dean Raftery/ Mark Kane.
The weather for the weekend was great with the exception of first thing on
the Sunday morning which due to fog the first stage of the day had to be
cancelled. As well as a number of WRC spec cars there were still a large
number of older cars competing including Ford Escort Mk2’s of which
there were 10. Sadly this year no classic Minis were entered.
Both MINIs finished well, Eugene Donnelly finishing 2nd overall & Dean
Raftery finishing 6th overall. The rally was won by Donagh Kelly/ Kevin
Flanagan in a Ford Focus WRC by a margin of 39.2 seconds over the MINI.
