2015 Diamond Valley Parade
General Information:

Time: Assembly from 8:30 am to 9:00 am
Parade starts at 10:00 am
Completed Registration forms should be submitted by May 29, 2015, 5pm.
Rules and Regulations
1. Return the following to David Petrovich:
a. entry form (see below),
b. signed release form (see below) and
c. proof of liability insurance which must include:
- A copy of your homeowners policy if you not with a company, or
- A certificate of insurance naming the Town as “additional insured” if you are with
a not-or-profit society or business, and/or
- Proof of equestrian insurance if with an equestrian group and individual.

2. Persons participate in the Diamond Valley Parade at their own risk. The Town of Black Diamond
is not responsible for the actions of parade participants.
3. Marshalling will take place at the Oilfields Regional Arena. Parking will NOT be permitted at the
arena. To avoid traffic jams and parking issues, we encourage all participants to car-pool.
4. All parade entries should be in place by 9:00am.
5. For safety reasons, novelties and candies MUST NOT BE THROWN from floats. They may,
however, be passed out by hand.
6. If sports equipment is used in the entry, please use only soft foam balls.
7. Persons riding in vehicles or floats must sit or be provided with and use handrails or other devices
which secure them from falling.
8. Please leave water pistols, water balloons, super-soakers at home!
9. All pets must be leashed or caged.
10. We ask that all parade participants follow the direction of parade personnel in the assembly area
and/or along the route regarding placement, pace, etc.
11. Appropriate behavior and float decorations are expected due to the family nature of this event.
12. There is a $25 charge for commercial entries, cheques payable to Town of Black Diamond.

NOTE: Equestrian groups and individual riders must have proof of equestrian insurance
(see Parade Release Form for details), thank you.
ALSO NOTE: Commercial entries will be required to pay $25 to enter, make cheques payable to
the Town of Black Diamond.
Parade Release Form
You, as spokesperson for the Participant (business, organization, or individual) in the Town of
Black Diamond, Diamond Valley Parade, acknowledge that you and all others in your group (the
Participant) are fully aware of the nature and extent of the risks involved in the parade, and are
assuming all risks associated with participation in the parade, which utilizes streets and land
owned by the Town of Black Diamond.
Participants in the parade also acknowledge that all motorized vehicles used to tow or
mechanized floats or otherwise used as part of the parade entry have valid insurance coverage
and will be operated by a person(s) with a valid Driver’s License. Equine entries must also
provide proof of AEF (Alberta Equine Federation) or equivalent insurance. Provide insurance
information in the form below OR photocopies of insurance certificates.
The Participant acknowledges and agrees that the Town of Black Diamond and its agents,
employees, and volunteers shall not be liable or in any way responsible for any loss, injury, or
damage suffered by the Participant due to their participation in the Diamond Valley Parade
utilizing land and streets owned by the Town of Black Diamond.
The Participant absolutely releases the Town of Black Diamond and its agents, employees, and
volunteers from any liability whatsoever, now, or in the future. In doing so, the Participant in no
way limits the application of common law principals of volenti non fit injuria from operation to
protect the Town of Black Diamond and its agents, employees, and volunteers.
All Participants in the parade agree and understand that they may have a picture or video taken
of them during the parade which may be used advertising, promotions, on websites and social
media.
All participants have read and will observe the rules and regulations as printed on the Parade
Registration Form, and in this waiver document.
