AdVenture Adaptive Cycling
Summer 2015
Boise Parks & Recreation’s Adaptive Recreation Program, called AdVenture, offers a variety of adaptive group bike rides.
Participants can bring their own bike or use one of AdVenture’s adaptive cycles (hand cycles, adult tricycles, tandems and
recumbent tricycles). Pre-registration is required for all rides, call 208-608-7680 or visit Fort Boise Community Center,
700 Robbins Rd. to enroll. After registering, if you need to use an AdVenture cycle, please call Sonya at 208-608-7680 to
make arrangements.
Adaptive Bike Fairs
Try out a variety of adaptive cycles designed for youth and adults
at our bike fair! You will have the opportunity to try upright and
recumbent hand cycles, trikes, recumbent trikes, tandem bikes
and trikes. This is a great time to learn about adaptive cycles and
discover what type works for you. If possible, please bring your
own helmet. This event is open to people of ALL abilities and ages so bring your friends and
family! Youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. These fairs are FREE!

Adaptive Bike Rides
Join us for an hour-long group ride along the Greenbelt. These rides are designed as supervised group rides and are not
bike riding lessons. Meet at Municipal Park from 6-7:30 p.m., the cost is $5 per ride. Age 12 and older unless accompanied
by an adult.

Extended Adaptive Bike Ride & Picnic - Saturday, May 30
After our two and a half hour-long group bike ride we will have a picnic meal in the park. Age 12 and older unless
accompanied by an adult. Meet at Marianne Williams Park, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The cost is $13 and the activity number is

Sun Valley Adaptive Cycling Trip - Saturday, June 13
Join us for an all day trip to the scenic Sun Valley area for an adaptive bike ride. Meet at Fort Boise Community Center at
8 a.m. and we will drive to the Sun Valley area, have a picnic lunch and then ride approximately 12 miles along the paved
Wood River Trail. This fun adventure is designed for individuals who can ride at least 12 miles in 2.5 hours, stay with the
group and follow directions. Participants will need to bring money for dinner on the drive home and we will return at 7
p.m. The cost is $60 and the activity number is 400749-01. Age 18 and older unless accompanied by an adult who also
registers.
