 Motivated nature club members to join her initiative.
 Conducted pre-survey to understand temple’s waste generation.
 Cleanliness drive was conducted in the temple premises.(Every
Wednesday)
 A compost pit was dug to recycle flower waste.
 Motivated temple priests to adopt waste segregation in the premises.
 Made channel for disposal of liquid waste coming from temple.
 Guided temple management for disposal of Non biodegradable
waste. (dumped in a pit behind temple.)
 Beautification of temple premises by plantation and painting was
done. (18-20 plants)
 Motivated people to maintain the beauty in and around temple.
Achievements and Learnings
• Reduction of plastic waste up to 90% in the temple premise.
• Composting is being practiced.
• People started using dona in place of plastics to carry garlands and
other worshipping materials.
• Greenery and aesthetic value of temple has increased.

Green action
• Did a seminar to make students join his initiative and a group called
“conservative pioneers” was formed.
• An audit was done to measure water consumption of school. (1520 litres
daily).
• Tanks of medicated water were installed at different places in school. (For
handwashing purpose; water had neem extract)
• Alternative methods were provided for practices that consume excess
water. (Gardening and mopping is being done with bucket and mug)
• Hand made posters were pasted near water taps.
• All the leaking water sources were repaired. (A quick fix service was
started)
• A post survey was conducted. (Daily consumption of water decreased to
545 litres )
Achievements and Learning
• Around ~800 liters of water is being saved from wastage.
• Students have understood the importance of water.
• Behavioral change in the students, gardener and cleaning staff can be
seen. (Students started using water wisely)

• Motivated students to join his ghat cleaning project.
• Carried out a cleanliness drive at the ‘Kaithi Ghat’. (Visited ghat
once in a week)
• Conducted a signature campaign.
• Installed 4 bins made up of bamboo shoots. (students contributed
for it).
• Convinced ‘Ganga Seva Nidhi’ to have a volunteer appointed to
take care of the ghat. A person has been appointed to take care of
ghat.
• Still visits ghat once in a week to check the working and cleanliness
status of ghat.

• Beautification of ‘Kaithi ghat’. (Cleanliness)
• Behavioral change in visitors and sages. (Most visitors dump the
waste in dustbins)

• Carried out auditing of the power consuming equipments in school
(Smart class and water coolers consume the most power )
• Prepared a presentation on advantages of LED over incandescent
bulbs.
• Convinced Parents and Principal to install LED bulbs and solar
panels.
• Got solar panel and LED installed at home. ( 1 solar panel; 3 LED
bulbs)
• Convinced Principal to have LED bulbs installed in Office and
staffroom.
• Responsibilities were assigned to switch off the high power
consuming devices timely like water coolers and smart classes.

• Decrement in household bill (from 450/500 to 150/200 Rs per
month).

receive.
• Contacted the authorities to retrieve the information about the
number of students in school.
• She did research on the making of paper. (how many trees needed
for making of paper)
• Conducted a survey on social media to know opinion of students
(students had similar opinion to use SMS instead of circulars).
• Suggested authorities to use double sided paper and use SMS as
means of communication between school and parents.
