Passport Health Plan names Don Kupper as new Vice President
Louisville, Ky. – Passport Health Plan has officially named Don Kupper as its Vice President of Clinical
Operations.
Prior to joining Passport, Don was most recently an executive with the Baptist Health System in Memphis and
also previously served as Vice President of Pharmacy and Supply Chain for the University of Louisville Medical
Center. Don is a pharmacist by training and has extensive background in business management and clinical
operations.
“Don will work closely with our Medical and Clinical Directors to bring increasing focus to quality and health
outcomes efforts,” said Dr. Stephen Houghland, Passport’s Chief Medical Officer. “Passport expects Don to be
a key contributor in the pursuit of our vision and the achievement of our mission to improve the health and
quality of life of our members.”
After graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy,
Don returned home to work at his family’s independent pharmacy in Louisville. He then moved into the
hospital system, working at Humana Audubon Hospital (now Norton Audubon Hospital) in Louisville as a
pharmacist. After a few years, Don moved into a leadership role and became Director of Pharmacy at Our Lady
of Peace. During this time, he also returned to college and received his Master’s in Business Administration
from Bellermine University, before moving on to the University of Louisville.
