Background:
Effective July 1, 2015, Place of Service (POS) Code 99 (Other) will no longer be accepted.
Previously this code was to be discontinued on April 1, 2015 but that date has been extended
to July 1, 2015. Any claims that were submitted using POS 99 between April 1, 2015 and today
and were denied have been re-processed and paid.
Provider Action Needed:
On July 1, 2015, providers must submit claims with a Place of Service code that accurately
reflects where a service has been provided. It is anticipated that the Kentucky Department of
Medicaid Services will be issuing a revised list of Place of Service Codes. Claims will be denied
with POS 99 (Other) on July 1, 2015. Additional information will be provided as it becomes
available.
Questions:
If you have questions about this change, please contact your behavioral health provider
relations specialist.
