Silent Auction: Bidding closes shortly after the show
We’re … as happy as a clam can be …as snug as a bug in a rug … as fine as frog’s hair … as
busy as a bee … because this year’s Variety Show’s theme is all about ‘Animals / Creatures of
the Earth’! Don’t be the black sheep of the family … Sign up today to be IN the Variety Show!
Sing…sing with a large group…play an instrument…have a band of instruments… write a
short skit from Old MacDonald’s farm! Sherry Johnson is our accompanist that afternoon, and
can be yours for your number. Find your music on line … or through Ward-Brodt (music store
in Madison). There are several books of music in our church music storage room. Just ask Jan!
PLEASE sign up on this year’s Variety Show poster BEFORE Sunday, April 5. Listed are
several songs/movies with Animals … Creatures of the Earth in the title …ideas to get your
brain in gear. Your act/skit/song must about the theme … Lions, Tigers, and Bears! Oh,
my!
Get your group (large or small) or your self organized AND decide by Easter Sunday, April 5!
Ask someone new in the church if they’d like to be a part of the show. Encourage someone who
hasn’t been at any previous shows to give it a try this year and, of course, come to the show!
Rehearse on your own, get your props together, and have fun doing it. There will be a oneand-only rehearsal (which will include the finale song that everyone will sing) for everyone to
attend. It will be a run-through of the entire show, from beginning to end. It will allow you
(and your group) to rehearse with the microphones, tweak your ‘positioning on our stage’,
practice with an audience of TV performers. This rehearsal will be Saturday, May 2 at 9:00am
(the day before the show).
ANY questions or comments please get in touch with me, Jan Rutkowski, at home
(849-3306), at church (849-7322), or on my cell phone (213-1848).
YOU have such ‘animal magnetism’ to be in this year’s Variety Show … on Sunday, May 3!
