Anthea Marie Horn and Matthew Mehran Johnson exchanged marriage vows at
6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, in Bethel African
Methodist Episcopal Church in North Little
Rock. Clarence Boyd officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Teresa and
Charles Waits of North Little Rock and Pamela and Clayborn Johnson of Little Rock.
She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Horn,
also of Little Rock.
The groom is the son of Minoo Johnson
of Moorpark, Calif., and Melvin Johnson of
Camarillo, Calif. He is the grandson of Aziz
Hagighat of Tehran, Iran.
The chancel held an arrangement of red
gladioli framed by a collar of red ostrich
plumes. Music was by pianist Brandon
Murphy and vocalists Adrienne Collens
and Nicholas Croom.
Given in marriage by her father, the
bride wore a Vera Wang fit-and-flare gown
with a draped halter-style bodice and a sequin-embellished organza and tulle skirt
with a sweep train. She carried a jeweled
brooch bouquet.
Jonathan Hunter of Little Rock served
as the bride’s honor attendant. Bridesmaids
were Crystal Washington, Ashley Young
and Tonia and Alida Wilson, cousins of the
bride, all of Little Rock; and Erin Tank of
Conway. The bridesmaids wore black illusion cocktail-length dresses embellished
with charmeuse trim and a brooch at the
Empire waistlines.
Flower girls were Jayden Cole of Little
Rock, cousin of the bride; Soie Waits of
North Little Rock, sister of the bride; and
Taylor Tank of Conway. Bell ringers were
Bryana Silas and Kaitlyn Shivers, both of
Little Rock.
Junior bride and groom were Alesha
Waits, sister of the bride, and Tarryn Wilson, both of North Little Rock.
Josh Gates of Chatsworth, Calif., was
best man. Groomsmen were Aaron Johnson, brother of the bride, and Chris Kane
and Robert Burton, all of Little Rock; John
Mallick of Pittsburgh; and Damien McDaniel of Dallas, cousin of the bride.
Guests were seated by Charleskadrik
Waits of Little Rock and Charles Waits of
North Little Rock, brothers of the bride.
A reception at the Doubletree hotel
followed the ceremony. Guest tables alternated centerpieces of tall vases filled with
black and white ostrich plumes with cylinder vases holding submerged orchids and
topped with floating candles. The sweetheart table was centered with a cascading
arrangement of red roses, orchids and red
feather plumes.
The bride has a bachelor’s degree in education from Arkansas State University at
Jonesboro; a master’s degree in counseling
from Harding University in Searcy; and is
working toward a doctorate in behavioral
health at Arizona State University in Tempe. She is a psychiatric therapist.
The groom has a bachelor’s degree in
journalism from California State University
at Northridge. A former reporter at KATV,
Channel 7, the groom is a news reporter at
KFMB-TV, Channel 8, in San Diego.
After a wedding trip to San Jose del
Cabo, Mexico, the couple will make their
home in San Diego.

Wedding vows were exchanged by Mary
Lauren Hollis and John Alexander Wilson
at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, in First United
Methodist Church of Russellville. The Rev.
Roy Smith Jr. officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Anne and
Mack Hollis of Russellville. Her grandparents are the late Ruth and Cal Hollis of Pine
Bluff and Dorothy and the late Gordon
Guetzlaff of Russellville.
Susan and Nick Wilson, 3901 N. Cedar
Hill Road, No. 8, are the parents of the
groom. He is the grandson of the late Nan
and Afton Wilson of Pocahontas and the
late Millie and John Shaddox of Nashville.
The church’s doors were decorated with
wreaths of ivory hydrangeas and champagne gold accents, and the altar held crystal rose bowls filled with white roses and
hydrangeas. Music was by organist Mary
Lou Douglas.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory strapless ball gown. The
fitted sweetheart bodice was embellished
with Chantilly lace and beaded soutache.
The flared tulle skirt extended to a cathedral-length train. She carried a bouquet of
white roses and ivy.
Serving as bridesmaids were Lindsay
Barnes of Rogers; Alia Biller of Waldorf,
Md.; Lucille Busch of Russellville; Laura
Cothren of Lowell; Ashlyn Holeyfield of
Washington; and Jackie Ponder of Dallas.
They wore cranberry-colored strapless
gowns of chiffon and carried bouquets of
roses.
Groomsmen were Joseph Hill, Nathan
Hill and Harrison Maddox, all of Little
Rock; Joel Ward and Cal Hollis, brother of
the bride, both of Fayetteville; and Austin
Wirth of Boulder, Colo.
A reception at Chamberlyne Country
Club in Danville followed the ceremony.
Guest tables held crystal rose bowls filled
with roses and hydrangeas and the buffet
held large arrangements of white roses and
hydrangeas, larkspur, stock and English tea
roses.
The bride graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelor’s degree in communication. She is a
casting assistant with Martinez-Nelson/
Berger Casting on the television show Hart
of Dixie.
The groom has a bachelor’s degree in
English literature from the university and
a master’s degree in writing and producing
for television from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He is a writers’ assistant on the television show Killer Women.
After a wedding trip to Italy the couple
will reside in Los Angeles.

Oak Park Baptist Church was the setting
at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, for the marriage
of Amanda Michele Stauber and James Tyler Turner. The Rev. Jeff Herring officiated.
Karol and James Stauber, 7 Camellia
Circle, are the parents of the bride. She is
the granddaughter of Bertha and James W.
Highfill and the late Joyce and James Stauber, all of Little Rock.
The groom is the son of Kecia McClure
Turner and James Turner, both of Troy,
Tenn. His grandparents are Dianne and
Wayne McClure of Cacye, Tenn., and Joyce
and the late Don Turner, also of Troy.
The aisle was lined with iced silver trees,
artificial snow and cylinder vases filled
with candles.
Given in marriage by her parents, the
bride wore an ivory lace and tulle trumpet-style gown pinned at the belted waist
with a brooch. She carried a bouquet of
white hydrangeas.
Maid of honor was Whitney Lawshe
Robinson of Jonesboro. Bridesmaids were
Carrie Wampler of Richmond, Ky.; Tiffani Childers of North Little Rock; Ashlyn
Kohler of Jonesboro; Lauren Overman of
Memphis; Jessica Curtis, Amanda Bain
and Madison Turner, all of Little Rock; and
Jordan Brown of Conway. They wore mer-
cury-colored chiffon one-shoulder gowns
and carried smaller versions of the bridal
bouquet.
Grace Johnson of Little Rock was flower girl. Ring bearers were Tristan Irwin of
Cordova, Tenn.; Ethan Irwin of Benton; and
Zane Reynolds of Dumas.
Serving as best man was Tra Faulkner of
Nashville, Tenn. Groomsmen were Spencer
Jeu and John Fray, both of Jonesboro; P.J.
Brumley of Manila; Josh Ford of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; Brian Lisko of Hazen; Michael
McKinney of Martin, Tenn.; and Zach Stauber of Jacksonville, Fla., brother of the bride.
A reception at The Loft 1023 followed
the ceremony. Arrangements of white hydrangeas decorated tables.
The bride has a bachelor’s degree in
journalism with an emphasis in public relations from Arkansas State University at
Jonesboro. She is director of marketing for
First National Bank.
The groom has a bachelor’s degree in
education with an emphasis in physical
education from ASU. He is a teacher and
varsity football coach at Wynne Public
Schools.
The couple will make their home in
Wynne after a honeymoon in Ocho Rios,
Jamaica.

Parents of the bride are Cindy and William Lohse of Fort Smith. Her grandparents are Mary Sue Shavey and the late Dave
Shavey, both of Byron, Ga., and Jane and
Robert Lohse of Prairie Village, Kan.
The groom is the son of Jackie and Dennis Hughes of Texarkana, Texas. He is the
grandson of Christine Hughes and the late
Delbert Hughes, the late Helen Merrell and
the late James Fagan, all also of Texarkana.
Swags of white hydrangeas, white tulips,
white stock, sprengeri and boxwood decorated the ceremony site. Music was by the
Jarboe String Quartet.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a mermaid-style gown with an
overlay of tulle embellished with guipure
appliques. She carried a bouquet of red
roses.
Matron of honor was Isabelle Morgan
of Addison, Texas. Bridesmaids were Sarah
Foss of San Francisco; Sarah St. AmourByrd of Little Rock; Dr. Stephanie McMenamy of New York; and Trisha Smith of
Texarkana, Texas. They wore apple-red
sleeveless chiffon gowns and carried bouquets of white hydrangeas, vendella roses,
white tulips, white dendrobium orchids and
white stock accented with gold leaves.
Flower girl was Taylor Smith of Texarkana, Texas.
Best man was Jared Buffington of Texarkana, Texas. Groomsmen were Sky Ashley
of Maud, Texas; Matt Lohse of San Francisco, brother of the bride; Dustin Hughes and
Matt Smith, both of Texarkana, Texas, and
cousins of the groom.
A reception, also at the Marriott, followed the ceremony. Tables were decorated
with arrangements of red roses, orchids,
tulips and dianthus and gold mercury glass
votive candle holders.
The bride is a cum laude graduate of
Rhodes College in Memphis and has a
bachelor’s degree in biology. She was a
member of Chi Omega and captain of the
women’s varsity swim team. She graduated
with honors and a doctorate of pharmacy
from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where she was a member of
Rho Chi. She is a pharmacist with Walgreens.
The groom has a bachelor’s degree in
animal science from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, and will graduate in the
spring with a master’s degree in business
administration. He is a territory manager
for BWI Companies Inc.
The couple will live in Little Rock and
plan a summer wedding trip to Alaska.

Jennifer Nicole Williams became the
bride of Spencer Daniel Ragsdale at 7:30
p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Loft 1023. Troy
Williams, grandfather of the bride, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Toni and
Stefan Cocklin and Ricky Williams, all of
Springdale. Her grandparents are Bobbie
and Troy Williams, also of Springdale, and
Rebecca and Dr. Tom Yoder of Cotter.
Sydney and Dennis Ragsdale of Sherwood are the parents of the groom. He is
the grandson of the late Mary and Lannas
Ragsdale and the late Daisy and Sidney
Byrd, all of Grubbs.
Music was by vocalist and guitarist Wes
Hart.
Given in marriage by her parents, the
bride wore a mermaid-style gown with
a lace overlay. The sweetheart neckline
was embellished with beading and the
scallop-hemmed skirt extended to a chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of
amaryllis, hypericum, red ranunculus and
red seeded eucalyptus.
Maid of honor was Tiffany Williams
of Fayetteville. She wore a black strapless
gown and carried a bouquet of white hy-
drangeas, tulips, white stock and seeded
eucalyptus.
Flower girl and ring bearer were Sable
Smith of North Little Rock and Luke Russell
of Sherwood.
Best man was Peter Smith of North Little
Rock.
A reception, also at Loft 1023, followed
the ceremony. Table centerpieces incorporated family heirlooms with arrangements
of hydrangeas, white tulips, white stock,
gold fatsia and seeded eucalyptus.
The bride has a bachelor’s degree in
communications from the University of
Central Arkansas in Conway, where she was
a member of Alpha Sigma Tau, was on the
homecoming court and was named Sigma
Tau Gamma White Rose Queen. She has received her professional in human resources
certification and is senior human resource
generalist for Center for Toxicology and
Environmental Health.
The groom has a bachelor’s degree in
business administration from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He is a product owner at ABC Financial.
The couple will live in North Little Rock
after a honeymoon in St. Lucia.

and the late Peggy Pickens, all of Pickens.
She is the great-granddaughter of Eunice
Kendrick, also of Danville.
Parents of the groom are Rita Clark of
Maumelle and Melanie and Billy and Martin of Sherwood. He is the grandson of
Rosemary and the late John Martin, also of
Sherwood, and Edith Salvidge and the late
Donald Davenport, both of Jacksonville.

red strapless gowns and carried bouquets
of white roses and hydrangeas.

of Jonesboro, cousins of the groom, and Jace
Davis of Danville, cousin of the bride.
Best man was Heath Payne of Norman,
Okla., brother of the groom. Groomsmen
were John Duvall and Nick Conley, brother of the bride, both of North Little Rock;
Blake Pugh of Little Rock; Brandon Rhude
of Sherwood; and Mike Pestka of Cabot.

Sherwood; Lance Stroud of Jacksonville;

A reception at The Greens at North Hills
in Sherwood followed the ceremony. Tables
covered in red or black cloths held silverand snow-covered wine bottles holding
candles and wedding flowers.
The bride graduated in December with
a bachelor’s degree in hospitality, tourism
and event management from Arkansas Tech
University at Russellville, and is employed
part time with the Arkansas Hospitality
Association.
The groom graduated from Pulaski
Technical College at North Little Rock with
an associate degree in auto technology. He
is an auto technician at Gwatney Chevrolet
in Jacksonville.
After a wedding trip to Mexico, the couple will live in Sherwood.
