TOWN SQUARE CONCEPTUAL PLANS FITNESS ZONE ADDED TO LOCAL PARK COMPLETE The latest addition to the $1.7 million Congress Avenue Barrier Free park is a 17-station outdoor gym. The event attracted artists from around the country. The nine pieces or art are mostly powered by the wind and human interaction. A FROTHY, HOPPY RENAISSANCE The Boynton Beach CRA has focused on food and dining as core components of the redevelopment plan. In addition to long-time local favorites like Hurrican Alleys, the CRA has spent more than $220,000 to assist in the startup of several new restaurants and bars. Now the City is emerging as a libation destination with the opening of bars such as Sweetwater, The Backyard and Due South, a microbrewery now distributing throughout the area. More are on the way. “If you find us, you’re obviously looking for something cool, and you’re going to bring your cool friends,” says Sean Iglehart part-owner of Sweetwater. Most of the new establishments pride themselves on serving local and craft beer, reflecting the trend in the market moving to unique entertainment venues. The area has also welcomed Biergarten, a European-style tavern with seven table taps where patrons can pour their own beer, billed by the ounce.
