Job Description: Program Manager Performing Arts Workshop (the Workshop), igniting young minds since 1965, is dedicated to helping young people develop critical thinking, creative expression, and essential learning skills through the arts. The Program Manager reports directly to the Program Director and is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary of $5055K DOE, health, dental, and vision benefits, and a comprehensive paid time off (PTO) package. Candidates must be available to start work in June 2015. Major Responsibilities: Partner Management: Manage a portfolio of partnerships with schools and community centers; regularly plan with site leadership to develop and refine their arts education plan; negotiate contracts and schedule artist residencies; initiate open, pro-active communication; troubleshoot issues related to artist placement, partner engagement, and program quality under guidance of the program director. Artistic Staff Management Support: Work with artistic leadership team to plan and co-facilitate monthly artist professional development meetings; manage artistic staff personnel folders and communicate responsibilities to artistic staff; problem-solve site/artist issues as appropriate under guidance of program director; provide feedback to program team regarding artistic staff performance. Contract Management: Initiate contracting paperwork process and communicate with program coordinator to finalize documents; work closely with program director & program coordinator to ensure accuracy of artistic staff contracts, timesheets and HR documents. Program Outreach: Conduct research and outreach to potential site partners, utilize Workshop messaging to articulate programs; publicly represent the Workshop at local community events and assist with promotion to targeted groups. Program Planning: Provide input on program design in partnership with program team and participate in organizational strategic planning processes. Program Reporting & Evaluation: Assist with grant reporting as necessary, including narrative writing, gathering attendance data and additional information; administer and help analyze grantrelated and organizational evaluations; support and introduce promising practices in alternative assessment in the arts. Special Projects: Coordinate special projects and/or program initiatives as designated by the program or executive directors, such as research projects, presentations, etc.; form and implement collaborations with external partners. Required Qualifications: B.A. in education, fine arts or equivalent professional experience Experience working within a school or after school/ community- based setting as an educator Facilitation experience with young people and/or adults Knowledge of or interest in the performing arts Demonstrated commitment to social justice Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Very strong initiative and ability to be self-motivated Knowledge of computer applications, including Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs Performing Arts Workshop is an Equal Opportunity Employer and seeks workforce diversity with respect to race, ethnicity, culture gender, age, sexual orientation, and physical abilities.
