FRIDAY NIGHTS AT THE CLUB
Hi Fellow Members,
I am one of the very few members that have gone to the club nearly
every Friday night, for the last ten years, to enjoy the company,
reasonable quality of food and fair prices for food and drinks.
Sadly, as we all know, the recent past has not been good to the extent
that the number of patrons has declined severely and the quality of the
food left much to be desired.
I have been very impressed with the change that has occurred with the
new caterers from Steve’s Bar and Café in Nedlands.
Last Friday I was very happy with the quality of the food, the prices were
good and the wait time for the meal was fine.
The purpose of this open letter is to say things are looking up and URGE
YOU TO GIVE THE CLUB YOUR SUPPORT BY PATRONISING THE CLUB WHEN
THE RESTAURANT IS OPEN. COME ON YOUR OWN OR BRING A GROUP.
We all know the club is going through a tough time and it is not helping
with low levels of support. I look forward with some optimism that we can
get back to the old days of booked out dinners and a full club house.

sausage sizzle and drinks for the volunteers at 12pm.
If everyone volunteers a few hours each we can have this Marina back in
tip top shape in no time. Please volunteer some of your valuable time for
this great cause.
Please advise the office if you will be attending [email protected]
CONTRACTORS ON MEMBERS BOATS
We encourage all members to inform the office of any contractors

they must report to office reception and sign in
REMINDER TO PEN / HARDSTAND LESSEES
Reminder to all pen and hardstand lessees that you must advise the club
if another boat, other than your registered boat with the club, is
occupying your pen or hardstand.
LOST AND FOUND
A pair of reading glasses found on the club AA Jetty has been handed in
to the office last week. If these may belong to you please come to the
office between 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
IMPORTANT NOTICE – ELECTRICAL LEADS
As a result of the current electrical repair work on the Jetties, is has been
identified that a number of electrical extension leads used by boat
owners do not meet specifications, and some of them are downright
dangerous.
As a matter of urgency, please ensure that your electrical extension leads
are “IP 56” or “IP 66”. This means that the extension lead MUST have
waterproof plugs. If they do not have waterproof plugs on them moisture
may seep into the connection; if moisture gets in, it could shut down the
power supply to the entire jetty.
Please feel free to contact the Bosun should you need any further
information
AGM TIME!
Calling all businesses that are required to hold an AGM this year.
The Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club is the perfect place to do host this.
We will take the hassle out of the setup and catering.
Boasting 2 function rooms, ample free parking and brand new function
packages there is plenty of choice to suit every businesses budget. Who
could pass up the opportunity to have an AGM with sea views so close to
the Perth CBD. Remember all full members will receive 20% off the room
hire if booked and organised by that member.
Please contact the Club’s Functions Manager, Julieann, for more
information and bookings. [email protected]
Turn your unwanted spare boat parts into cash!
Doesn’t have to be just boat parts, anything nautical is good
