Visa/Entry Permit Application Procedures for non-local HKUST PG Students For details, check http://pg.ust.hk/cgi-bin/pg/eng/visa Non-local applicant accepts an HKUST conditional or firm offer of admission From end-Mar for Fall Term / end-Oct for Spring Term Applicant logins to the HKUST Online Visa Application System to file a visa / entry permit application Tips: 1) allow at least 2 months for processing 2) before activation, visas / entry permits are valid only for 3 months 3) visa extension is not applicable for current HKUST MPhil students from Main China pursuing PhD studies at HKUST Applicant mails original of the visa / entry permit application to HKUST as instructed Tip: use courier service to save time As sponsor, HKUST 1. Forwards visa / entry permit application to Hong Kong Immigration Department (IMMD) for consideration 2. Updates visa / entry permit application status in the HKUST Online Visa Application System IMMD approves visa / entry permit application HKUST collects and sends visa / entry permit label to applicant by courier Chinese Mainland applicant applies for EEP (“Exit-entry Permit for Traveling to and from Hong Kong and Macau”) and the relevant exit permission from the Mainland authorities (公安局) Applicant activates label upon entry to Hong Kong: 1. For passport holder: Please stick label onto valid travel document 2. For EEP holder: Paper-format: Please stick label onto your EEP; Electronic format: Please present the label together with your EEP (Version: 2 April 2015) Tip: Process will take 2 weeks
