Our services continue to grow and develop and we are ambitious about growth. The Group HR Manager oversees and co-ordinates human resources and employment issues within the group. Line Manager The Group HR Manager will be responsible in the first instance to the Group Finance Director with matrix reporting to the Operations Director and Managing Director. Staff managed The Group HR Manager will oversee a small team across 2 areas in North and South Devon to advise on human resource matters relating to both the academic and residential side of the company. Duties and responsibilities to include: General • Provide advice to the Managing Director, Finance Director and Operations Director on HR issues and Employment Law. • Manage all HR administration with direct line management for 3 FTE www.phoenixlearningcare.co.uk Tel: 01271 379006 Fax: 01271 314591 Email: [email protected] Registered number: 05506172 ATA: Phoenix Childcare Ltd Phoenix Learning & Care Group First Floor, Rolle Quay House, Rolle Quay, Barnstaple, Devon, EX31 1JE • Develop and lead the HR Strategy ensuring it supports the company's strategic objectives and implement new, streamlined policies, procedures and processes ensuring they are in line with current employment law Employee Relations • Overseeing and where appropriate managing case work relating to disciplinary, grievance, performance and other employment matters, supporting managers by provision of sound employment law and good practice advice and appropriate risk management • Providing first point of advisory contact for operational employment issues faced by managers and other Group staff • Managing specific ER projects that may relate to changes in current working practices or acquisitions of new businesses Talent Management/Learning & Development • Working with the Group Training Manager and Director of Quality & Compliance to ensure that staff development takes a key priority • Enhancing company-wide processes in the area of succession planning, identification of 'high potential' and talent risk and retention planning • Identifying and developing appropriate management training platforms and pathways • Ownership for the Group’s recruitment processes & policies and supporting the operational teams in ensuring effective recruitment minimises operational risks Performance Management • Review, development and revitalisation of the current Group performance management structures and processes • Providing coaching and education to managers on the business importance of managing performance and developing talent, ensure all managers are effective when conducting reviews and delivering feedback • Coaching and supporting managers to develop a culture of continuous improvement and clarity of understanding to their responsibilities and key annual targets Staff engagement and communications • Work with the Executive and Senior Management teams to develop robust staff engagement processes • Administer and lead on all internal staff communications including annual engagement surveys and adhoc reviews • Review and development of current Group Employee Benefits programmes Reporting and Financial • Provision of Group employment KPIs and metrics to help the Executive team decision making and strategic direction • Ownership of HR budgets and cost centres www.phoenixlearningcare.co.uk Tel: 01271 379006 Fax: 01271 314591 Email: [email protected] Registered number: 05506172 ATA: Phoenix Childcare Ltd Phoenix Learning & Care Group First Floor, Rolle Quay House, Rolle Quay, Barnstaple, Devon, EX31 1JE Person Specification Experience and qualities required for the post • • • • • • • • • • • • Graduate calibre, CIPD qualified is preferred Proven track record of HR experience Have extensive experience in working with operational teams within a multisite environment Excellent knowledge and understanding of HR issues within an operational context with a pragmatic approach A sound knowledge of employment law and recent working experience in the field Experience of implementing, maintaining and improving relevant systems and procedures Have a keen eye for process improvement and a curiosity for exploring ways of streamlining and implementing cost saving changes Well organised with strong time management skills Excellent interpersonal/communication skills Good IT skills: working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes, including Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
