Playoff Series (Spurs 4-2)
Thunder vs. Spurs: After defeating the Los Angeles Clippers 4-2 in the second round of the 2014 Playoffs, the Oklahoma City Thunder has now advanced to the
Western Conference Finals for a third time in the last four seasons. During the lone postseason meeting between the Thunder and Spurs in 2012, Oklahoma City
advanced to the NBA Finals after defeating San Antonio 4-2 in the Western Conference Finals (OKC trailed 0-2 in 2012 before winning four straight games to
close-out the series). During the 2013-14 regular season, the Thunder went a perfect 4-0 against the Spurs. Prior to Game 6 tonight in Oklahoma City, the
Thunder had won nine straight games versus San Antonio at Chesapeake Energy Arena (regular season & postseason combined).
Breaking the Trend: Oklahoma City looked looking to overcome an 0-2 deficient in the Conference Finals for a second time in the last three seasons. Heading
into this season’s Conference Finals, teams that fell behind 0-2 in a best of 7 series in NBA history go onto win the series just 6.1% of the time (16 out of 261
chances). The Thunder was attempting to advance to the NBA Finals, despite trailing in each of the first three rounds of the playoffs. Had the Thunder advanced
to The Finals, Oklahoma City would have become just the second team in NBA history to advance to the Finals after trailing in each of the first three rounds of the
postseason (2011 Philadelphia 76ers).
Playoff Notes: Oklahoma City is made its fifth consecutive trip to the playoffs and in each of the last four seasons, the Thunder advanced to the Western
Conference Semifinals. After defeating Memphis in the first round of the 2014 playoffs, the Thunder became the only Western Conference team to advance out of
the first round in each of the last four seasons (Miami also accomplished the feat in the Eastern Conference). After defeating the Clippers in Game 6 of the
Western Conference Semifinals, the Thunder remains 3-0 in postseason series when leading the series 3-2.
Game 6 - May 31st, 2014 at Chesapeake Energy Arena
Oklahoma City 107 – San Antonio Spurs 112
The Thunder built a seven-point lead at halftime, but the Spurs scored 37 points in the third quarter to create a 12-point lead. The Thunder rallied back to send
the game to overtime, but the Spurs scored the final six points of the extra period… The Thunder’s defense forced the Spurs into 40.4 percent and 14 turnovers,
shot just 42.7 percent itself to go with 20 turnovers in a game that featured 17 lead changes and 14 ties… Russell Westbrook finished with 34 points, eight
assists, seven rebounds and six steals… Kevin Durant registered 31 points and 14 rebounds to go with two assists and three blocks… The Thunder shot 29-for-33
from the free throw line, including 17-for-18 by Russell Westbrook… Reggie Jackson added 21 points and Serge Ibaka finished with 16 points and four blocks.
Game 5 - May 29th, 2014 at AT&T Center
Oklahoma City 89 – San Antonio Spurs 117
The Thunder started the game off by building a seven-point first quarter lead before a 13-3 Spurs run flipped the game around… The Spurs shot 51.3 percent
from the field while hitting 13-of-26 three-point attempts, while the Thunder shot 43.2 percent and just 6-of-24 three-pointers… Kevin Durant scored 25 points on
11-for-21 shooting while adding five rebounds and two assists… Russell Westbrook scored 21 points on 6-for-12 shooting while grabbing four rebounds, handing
out seven assists and making three steals… Reggie Jackson started the game shooting 5-for-5 from the field, scoring 11 points in the first quarter, but didn’t score
again the rest of the way.
Game 4 - May 27th, 2014 at Chesapeake Energy Arena
Oklahoma City 105 – San Antonio Spurs 92
The Thunder used quick runs in the second and third quarters to take a 15-point halftime lead and eventually build a 27-point edge to tie the series at 2-2… The
Thunder’s defense held the Spurs to 39.8 percent shooting while forcing San Antonio to 13 turnovers that led to 21 points… The Thunder outscored the Spurs 210 in fast break points and shot 22-for-31 in the paint compared to the Spurs’ 18-for-40… Russell Westbrook became the first player since Michael Jordan in 1989
to rack up 40 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and five steals in a playoff game, while Kevin Durant added 31 points… The Thunder shot 48.7 percent from the
field including 7-for-16 from three-point range.
Game 3 - May 25th, 2014 at Chesapeake Energy Arena
Oklahoma City 106 – San Antonio Spurs 97
The Thunder used a 12-2 burst to start the fourth quarter to turn a seven point advantage into a 17-point lead with just over seven minutes remaining in
regulation… Serge Ibaka returned to the lineup to play 30 minutes, racking up 15 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots… Reggie Jackson made his first
start of the 2013-14 postseason, accumulating 15 points, five assists and four rebounds in a game-high 37 minutes… The Thunder out-rebounded the Spurs 52-36
and outscored San Antonio 12-3 in fast break points… The Thunder blocked ten shots while holding the Spurs to 39.6 percent shooting and forcing 16 turnovers…
Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined for 51 points, 18 rebounds and ten assists.
Game 2 - May 21st, 2014 at AT&T Center
Oklahoma City 77 – San Antonio Spurs 112
The Thunder started the game well, taking a 26-24 lead into the second quarter, but the Spurs mounted a 25-8 run to end the first half and followed it up with
another big run in the third quarter to put this one away… The Thunder shot just 39.3 percent from the field, including 2-for-20 from the three-point line, while
the Spurs shot 50.0 percent and Danny Green made 7-of-10 three-point attempts… The Thunder’s bench scored 43 points, grabbed 23 rebounds and handed out
11 assists as a unit, led by Jeremy Lamb’s 13 points… Steven Adams grabbed eight rebounds in addition to nine points on 4-for-5 shooting, while Caron Butler and
Reggie Jackson combined for 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists... Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined for just 30 points on 13-for-40 shooting.
Game 1 - May 19th, 2014 at AT&T Center
Oklahoma City 105 – San Antonio Spurs 122
The Thunder made a third quarter run to take a one-point lead, its first since the opening minutes, but the Spurs responded with a 10-0 run to shut down the
Thunder’s comeback attempt… The Thunder shot 46.3 percent from the field including 12-for-27 from the three-point line, but the Spurs shot 57.5 percent,
including 9-for-17 from three… Kevin Durant finished with 28 points, nine rebounds and five assists, while Russell Westbrook had 25 points, five rebounds and
seven assists… The Thunder’s bench scored 47 points, including 16 by Derek Fisher, 13 from Reggie Jackson and nine by Caron Butler… The Thunder outscored
the Spurs 13-7 in second chance points and knocked down 19-of-23 free throws.
A Turn For the Better: In the first two games of the series, the Spurs averaged 117 points on 53.8% shooting (including 45.0% 3-point shooting). However, in
Games 3 and 4 (with Serge Ibaka in the lineup), the Thunder limited San Antonio to 94.5 points on 39.7% shooting (including 35.8% 3-point shooting). In fact,
the Thunder held the Spurs to sub 40.0% shooting in back-to-back playoff games for the first time since April 27 and 29 of 2008 (versus Phoenix).
Playoff Russell: During the 2014 playoffs, Russell Westbrook recorded three triple-doubles (no other player has recorded a single triple-double this postseason)
and in 19 playoff games, Westbrook averaged 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.1 assists. Westbrook became just the second player in NBA playoff history (Oscar
Robertson) to average 26+ points, 7+ rebounds and 8+ assists (min. 10 games played).
Down But Not Out: During the 2014 postseason, the Thunder went 5-3 in games played after a loss. In the last four postseasons, the Thunder has now won
four Game 4’s when trailing 2-1 in a series. The rest of the NBA has claimed just six Game 4 victories in a similar situation (out of 51 chances). Since 2011,
Oklahoma City has gone a perfect 4-0 in playoff series when the series is tied 2-2 (including the 2012 Conference Finals vs. San Antonio). In the opening round
versus Memphis, the Thunder won Games 6 (on the road) before closing out the series in Game 7.
Russell & Jordan: After recording 40 points, 10 assists and five steals in Game 4, Russell Westbrook joins Michael Jordan (1989) as just the second player in
NBA history to hit such benchmarks in a postseason game. In Game 4, Westbrook himself outscored the entire Spurs’ starting lineup (40-39). Westbrook has now
posted three 30-point, 10-assist games this postseason. Only three players in NBA history have had more such games in a single postseason (Jordan with seven in
1989, Jerry West for the Los Angeles Lakers with six in 1970 and Oscar Robertson with five for the 1963 Cincinnati Royals)
Good Company: After registering eighth double-double of the 2014 playoffs during the Thunder’s Game 6 loss vs. the Spurs, Kevin Durant posted his 21st career
postseason effort with 25+ points and 10+ rebounds. Durant joins Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (27) and Wilt Chamberlain (21) as the only two players in NBA playoff
history to accomplish such a feat before the age of 26.
Dynamic Duo: During the 2014 playoffs, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined to average 56.3 points per game. The Durant-Westbrook duo is the first
pair of teammates to each average 25+ points in the playoffs (min. 10 games) since the 2003 postseason in which Kobe Bryant (32.1) and Shaquille O’Neal (27.0)
accomplished the feat.
Good Company: Through 19 games during the 2014 NBA playoffs, Kevin Durant is averaged 29.6 points per game (tops in the NBA), bringing his career playoff
scoring average to the 4th best all-time in NBA playoff history. Durant registered 11 30+ point games during the 2014 playoffs (no other player had more than

Comeback Kids: In both Games 5 and 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals versus the L.A. Clippers, the Thunder claimed victory after trailing each game by
15+ points. By overcoming 15 point deficits in back-to-back postseason games, the Thunder became the first team to recover from such margins in consecutive
games since the Sacramento Kings accomplished the feat during the 2001 playoffs. It is also worth noting, during the 2014 playoffs, Oklahoma City is 5-2 in
games played after a loss. Also, the Thunder dropped Game 1 at San Antonio in 2012 before rallying to beat the Spurs in a six game series to advance to the NBA
Finals.
Still Fishing: To say that Derek Fisher is a veteran of the postseason would seemingly be an understatement. The 2014 playoffs mark Fisher’s 16th trip to the
postseason in his career. A five-time NBA Champion, after the Thunder’s Game 2 victory versus the Clippers, Fisher claimed his 156 playoff victory, the most in
NBA playoff history (Fisher now owns 160 playoff career wins). Earlier this season, Fisher captured his 1,000th career victory (regular season & playoffs
combined). Fisher owns 853 career regular season wins, which ranks second among active NBA players (Tim Duncan). Despite all the miles, Fisher put together
one of the best shooting years of his career this past season. In his last 40 games, Fisher shot 42.9% from 3-point range (60-140 3FGs).
All-Time Leader: After registering 26 points in Game 5 of the opening round vs. the Grizzlies, Kevin Durant (2,109) became the top all-time playoff scoring
leader in franchise history {Passing Gary Payton (1,668)}. Durant has played in 73 playoff games for the Thunder, while Payton played 94 playoff games for the
franchise.
Game 7 Triple-Double: Russell Westbrook has appeared in two Game 7’s in his career and in each instance, Westbrook registered a triple-double. During Game
7 versus Memphis, Westbrook joined Oscar Robertson as the only players in NBA history with 27+ points, 16+ assists and 10+ rebounds in a playoff game.
Westbrook is also one of just two players to record multiple triple-doubles during a Game 7 (Rajon Rondo).

Nearly a Record: In Game 2 of the semifinals versus Los Angeles, Russell Westbrook recorded his second triple-double in the past three games and Kevin
Durant came one assist shy of recording his first postseason triple-double. Had Durant registered one most assist, the tandem of Westbrook and Durant would
have become the first pair of teammates to record a triple-double in the same game in all-time NBA postseason history.
Round 1: In the opening round of the 2014 playoffs, the Thunder competed in a seven game series for just a second time in the Oklahoma City era. As was the
case in 2011, the Thunder claimed victory in a decisive Game 7 versus the Memphis Grizzlies to advance to the Western Conference Semifinals. The Thunder
advanced past Memphis, despite trailing 2-3 after the first five games of the series. Entering the 2014 playoffs, only 14.1% (37-225) of teams trailing 2-3 in a
seven game series went onto win their respective series.
OT Anyone: During Games 2 through 5 of the Thunder’s opening round playoff series, Oklahoma City and Memphis decided the outcome in overtime. This
represents the first playoff series in NBA history to feature four straight overtime games.
Mr. April: Reggie Jackson stepped-up in a big way in Game 4 of the Thunder’s opening round series vs. Memphis as the third year guard recorded a career-best
32 points (on 11-of-16 shooting) to go along with nine rebounds. Jackson became just the second player (Manu Ginobili) in the last 25 years to record 32+ points
and 9+ rebounds off the bench during a NBA playoff game.
35 or More: The Memphis Grizzlies franchise has allowed just ten 35-point playoff games in franchise history, and of those, Durant has been responsible for six
of those 35+ point efforts (no other player has recorded 35+ point versus Memphis in the playoffs more than once). Dating back to the 2010 postseason, Durant
has posted 15 games of 35 or more (tops in the NBA during this span).

Thunder vs. Clippers: The Thunder and Clippers are meeting in the postseason for the very first time in the history of the two franchises. The
Thunder took a 3-2 series lead on Tuesday night in Game 5 after closing the game on a 17-3 run to capture the come-from-behind victory. Entering the
2014 playoffs, the winner of Game 5, when the series is tied 2-2, goes onto win the series 83.0% of the time (142-171). After claiming a 118-112
victory in Game 3 at STAPLES Center last Friday night, the Thunder won despite trailing through the first three quarters (The Clippers had been a
perfect 35-0 at home this past regular season + playoffs when leading after three quarters).

The Thunder trailed by as many as 16 early on, but chipped away and used a 7-0 burst to tie the game at the end of the third quarter, then a 10-0 run
mid-way through the fourth quarter to break the game open… Kevin Durant scored 39 points, 36 of which came over the final three quarters, in
addition to grabbing a Thunder playoff-high 16 rebounds and handing out five assists… The Thunder’s bench outscored the Clippers’ 35-17 thanks to 14
points from Reggie Jackson and 10 points and 11 rebounds from Steven Adams… Russell Westbrook registered 12 assists along with 19 points, three
rebounds and two steals… The Thunder outscored the Clippers 88-68 over the final three quarters and held the Clippers to just 42.1 percent shooting
and 6-for-21 from behind the three-point line.

The Thunder overcame a 13-point deficit with four minutes to play and a seven-point deficit with just 49 seconds remaining in regulation by using an 80 run in the final minute to secure the win… The Thunder dominated points in the paint to the tune of 44-22, while outscoring the Clippers 19-12 in fast

playing 36 games without starting point guard and three-time NBA all star, Russell Westbrook. On April 4, Oklahoma City secured a fourth straight
Northwest Division title as the Thunder became one of just three teams (Miami and San Antonio) to win a division title in each of the last four seasons.
Playoff Success: Holding the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, the Thunder is set to face-off against the No. 7 seed Memphis Grizzlies in the
opening round of the playoffs. After defeating the Houston Rockets in the opening round of the 2013 playoffs, the Thunder became the ONLY Western
Conference team to advance past the first round in each of the last three seasons (Miami also accomplished the feat in the Eastern Conference).
In a League Of His Own: Kevin Durant’s 2013-14 season is certain to go down in the record books as the seventh year forward put up numbers that
had seldom been reached in NBA history. Durant (32.0 points per game) recorded his fourth NBA Scoring Title in the last five seasons and it doing so,
he registered the highest point per game average in the NBA since Kobe Bryant averaged 35.4 ppg during the 2005-06 season. By averaging 32+

Results with Russell: After missing the previous 27 games (right knee), Russell Westbrook returned to the Thunder lineup on Mar. 20 vs. Miami. In
his first two games after returning to the lineup, Westbrook averaged 13.5 points on 25.0% shooting to go along with 4.0 assists. However, in his last
19 games of the regular season, Westbrook averaged 23.3 points on 47.0% shooting to go along with 7.2 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals. On Mar.
4 versus Philadelphia, Westbrook recorded his eighth career triple-double in just 20+ minutes of action to become the second fastest player to register a
triple-double (Jim Tucker recorded a triple-double in 17 minutes of action on 2/20/55 as a member of the Syracuse Nationals). This past season,
Westbrook was one of ONLY TWO PLAYERS (LeBron James) in the NBA to average 21+ points, 6+ assists and 5+ rebounds (min. 40 games).
Ibaka is Surging: During the 2013-14 season, Serge Ibaka once again displayed signs of continued development. On the year, Ibaka recorded 29
double-doubles (after posting 15 double-doubles during the 2012-13 season) while averaging career-highs in scoring (15.1 ppg) and rebounds (8.8 rpg).
To highlight Ibaka’s consistency, the sixth year forward strung together 17 games in which he scored in double-figures (a career-long streak). Ibaka
finished the season with a total of 219 blocks to become just the second player in NBA history (Dikembe Mutombo) to lead the NBA in total blocked
shots for four consecutive seasons. Meanwhile, Ibaka’s 2.70 blocks per game, ranked second in the NBA.
Still Fishing: To say that Derek Fisher is a veteran of the postseason would seemingly be an understatement. The 2013-14 playoffs will mark Fisher’s
16th trip to the postseason in his career. A five-time NBA Champion, Fisher (240 games) enters the playoffs four games shy of tying Robert Horry’s alltime NBA record for most playoff game appearances (244). Fisher enters the postseason ranking third in career playoff wins (151) behind Kareem
Abdul-Jabbar (154) and Horry (155). Earlier this season, Fisher captured his 1,000th career victory (regular season & playoffs combined). Fisher owns
853 career regular season wins, which ranks second among active NBA players (Tim Duncan). Despite all the miles, Fisher put together one of the best
shooting years of his career this past season. In his last 40 games, Fisher shot 42.9% from 3-point range (60-140 3FGs).

Getting Defensive: As one might expect, team defense is always critical to overall team success. During the 2013-14 season, OKC limited its
opponents to the third worst field goal shooting percentage in the NBA (43.6%). The Thunder finished the year going 18-2 when holding the opposition
to sub 40.0% field goal shooting. Dating back to the start of the 2012-13 season, the Thunder is 69-5 when holding their opponent to 42.0% or less
field goal shooting.
Boards are the Barometer: As one might expect, Oklahoma City has traditionally found its greatest success when outrebounding the opposition. This
past season OKC went 44-8 when outrebounding the opponent (including 17-2 when outrebounding the opponent by 10 or more). OKC finished the
year ranking seventh in the NBA in rebounding (44.7 rebounds per game), despite not having a player on the roster rank among the NBA’s top-20
rebounders. On Jan. 31, the Thunder limited the Brooklyn Nets to an all-time NBA low of just 17 rebounds.
Home Cooking: Since arriving in Oklahoma City during 2008, the Thunder has always taken pride in defending its home court. This season, OKC
began a perfect 13-0 at Chesapeake Energy Arena (best home start for the Thunder in the Oklahoma City era) before falling to the Raptors on Dec. 22.
The OKC franchise matched its best all-time home start (team also went 13-0 top open the 1976-77 season). The Thunder’s 13 game home winning
streak represented the second longest streak in the Oklahoma City era (won 14 games from 1/6/12 – 3/7/12). Oklahoma City finished the year with a
home record of 34-7 (tied for second best in the NBA) as the Thunder won its final six home games of the regular season.
Making them Look Free: In what has become a staple for the Thunder program, OKC was once again very productive at the free throw line this past
season. Oklahoma City finished the year by ranking second in the NBA in free throw shooting accuracy (80.6%). During the 2012-13 season, the
Thunder not only led the NBA in free throw shooting, but OKC actually finished the year as the third best free throw shooting team in NBA history
(82.8%). As a point of reference, the best all-time free throw shooting percentage for an entire season in NBA history is 83.2% (Boston Celtics; 198990). During the 2009-10 season Durant recorded 756 free throw makes, an all-time OKC Thunder franchise record and the 6th most in NBA history for a
single season. Durant’s 756 free throws made were the most for a single-season since Michael Jordan recorded 833 free throw makes during the 198687 season. KD became the ONLY player in NBA history to convert 700+ free throws while shooting 90.0% or better.
Road Warriors: The Thunder concluded its 2013-14 road schedule by going 25-16 away from Chesapeake Energy Arena. During the season, the
Thunder strung together a 6-game and an 8-game road win streak (the eight straight road wins were the most in the Oklahoma City era). In fact, it had
been over a decade since the OKC franchise last won eight consecutive road games (last won eight straight road games from 1/24/02 – 2/27/02).
Despite losing to the Pacers on Apr. 14, the Thunder went 12-3 on the road this season against Eastern Conference opponents. The Thunder’s .610
road winning percentage was the second best in the NBA this past season (San Antonio).
Team Basketball: On 22 occasions this season (Most recently: Apr. 8 at SAC), the Thunder prevailed during a game in which five players scored in
double figures. During the year, the Thunder went 22-4 when five players score 10+ points. Over the last two seasons OKC has registered a mark of 507 when five players score in double figures.
Block Party: As has become the norm in recent seasons, the Thunder once again finished the year among the top shot-blocking teams in the NBA
(OKC ranked second in the NBA with 6.11 bpg). For a fourth straight season, Serge Ibaka led the NBA in total blocks (219) to become the second player
in NBA history to record such a feat {Dikembe Mutombo (1994-98)}. Prior to this past year, OKC led the NBA in blocks in each of the two previous
seasons. During the 2011-12 season, the Thunder not only led the NBA in blocked shots (8.17 bpg), but Oklahoma City recorded the highest block per
game total in the NBA in nearly 20 years. The 1993-94 Denver Nuggets team (8.37 bpg) was the last group to average more blocks than the 11-12 OKC
team. During 2011-12, Ibaka led the NBA while setting an all-time franchise record with a 3.65 block per game average (most blocks per game since
Theo Ratliff recorded 3.74 bpg during the 2000-01 season).
Scoring Leader: With 2,593 points scored during the 2013-14 regular season, Kevin Durant led the NBA in scoring for a fourth time in the last five
seasons. Durant is now one of just five players in NBA history to win four or more scoring titles. During the 2009-10 season, Durant became the
youngest scoring champ in NBA history (21 years & 197 days).

What a run: On Apr. 6 in Phoenix, Kevin Durant surpassed Michael Jordan’s modern day record by scoring 25 or more points in 41 consecutive games

occasions this season, the Thunder prevailed by double-figures and on 12 instances, the Thunder won by 20 or more. The Thunder’s 6.3 point per game

Player of the Month: Kevin Durant was named the Western Conference Player of the Month for March, his fourth such POM honor of the season.
During the month of March, Durant averaged 34.5 points per game, on 51.7% shooting. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Durant is the first player
to average 33.0+ ppg in three successive months since Michael Jordan accomplished the feat during the 1989-90 season. Durant’s 11 career POM
awards are the most in the Western Conference since the start of the 2009-10 season.
Durant Highlights: In a season filled with many memorable moments and accomplishments, Kevin Durant kicked-off the month of January by
averaging 35.9 points per game while shooting 54.9% from the field (highest scoring month of Durant’s career). During the month, Durant recorded his
fifth career triple-double on Jan. 25 at Philadelphia to go along with his career-best 54 point performance versus Golden State on Jan. 17 and four
additional 40+ point outings. Durant became just the third player in the last 30 years to score 30+ points in 12 consecutive games and the streak finally
came to an end on Jan. 31 at Brooklyn during a game in which the Thunder amassed a 32 point lead and Durant did not play in the fourth quarter

Better Then Ever: In his seventh NBA season, Kevin Durant has once again continued to improve as a player. A year after becoming just the second
player in NBA history (Larry Bird) to average 28+ points while shooting better than 50.0% from the field, 40.0% from 3-point range and 90.0% from
the free throw line, Durant once again found a way to improve his game during the 2013-14 season. Durant averaged career-highs in not only scoring
(32.0 ppg), but also in assists (5.5 apg). On 16 instances this season, Durant scored 30+ points while registering 10+ rebounds (Durant accomplished
the feat just four times during all of last season). During the Thunder’s come-from-behind victory over the Timberwolves on Jan. 4 (trailed by as many
as 13 points in the 4th quarter), Kevin Durant scored 23 4th quarter points (most of his career) to lead the Thunder to victory.
Just Another Back-2-Back: During the 2013-14 season, the Thunder played in 15 sets of back-to-backs. After defeating the Kings and Clippers on
consecutive nights during the second week of April, the Thunder claimed seven “sweeps” of a back-to-backs during the season. On the year, OKC went
12-3 on the first night and 8-7 on the second night of its back-to-back pairings.
Bouncing Back: In what has become a staple for the Thunder during the past few seasons, Oklahoma City has proven to be incredibly resilient in
those games played after a loss. Dating back to the start of the 2011-12 season, OKC has posted a 47-15 record in “bounce-back” games (second best
record in the NBA; San Antonio).
Bench Production: Prior to Reggie Jackson entering the Thunder’s starting line-up (after Russell Westbrook underwent knee surgery on Dec. 27), the
Thunder’s bench had been producing at a clip that had never been seen in the Oklahoma City era. Through the first 28 games of the season, Oklahoma
City’s bench averaged 34.6 points per game, representing the highest scoring output for the Thunder reserves during the OKC era. Through the
Thunder’s Christmas game on Dec. 25, the duo of Jackson and Lamb had combined to average 22.0 points per game off the bench. The Thunder went
a perfect 15-0 this season when Jackson came off the bench and proceeded to score 15 or more points.
Thunder All-Stars Shine Bright: During All-Star Weekend in New Orleans, the Oklahoma City Thunder organization was once again well represented.
Led by Scott Brooks and the Thunder coaching staff, the West All-Stars built an 18-point lead, but eventually fell to the Eastern Conference squad.
Making his fifth All-Star appearance (fourth start), Kevin Durant recorded a game-high (tying) 38 points to go along with 10 rebounds in 35 minutes of
action. Durant is the first player in All-Star history to score 30+ points in four straight All-Star games. Durant has now scored 153 points in his five all
star games, the most of any player in NBA history during his first five all All-Star appearances. Thunder rookie Steven Adams participated is the Rising
Stars Challenge as part of All-Star Weekend. In 18 minutes, Adams went 3-of-3 from the field for six points to go along with four blocked shots.
Additionally, Thunder guard Reggie Jackson participated in the Skills Challenge part of All-Star Saturday Night.
OKC is Fan Friendly: The Thunder once again played in front of a packed-house during the entire 2013-14 season as fans continued to fill Chesapeake
Energy Arena. After registering sellouts during all 41 home games this past season, the Thunder enters the 2014 playoffs having recorded sellouts in
130 consecutive regular season home outings and 155 games overall when including the postseason. Fans in attendance this season continued to enjoy
the improvements made to the Chesapeake Energy Arena as part of a taxpayer funded initiative passed in March 2008. Thanks to the publically funded
initiative, the team’s arena boasts a state-of-the art scoreboard, new terrace suites, an updated main concourse with new concession stands, a new
Sunset Lounge on the Club Level and a first-class courtside club.
Adams in the Family: Throughout his first NBA season, Thunder rookie Steven Adams was effective on both the offensive and defensive ends of the
floor. After recording his first career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds on Nov. 8 at Detroit (first double-double for a Thunder rookie since
Serge Ibaka accomplished the feat on 2/20/10 vs. TOR), Adams wraps-up the season ranking ninth among rookies in rebounding (4.1) and blocks (.70).
A Baker’s Dozen: After defeating the Chicago Bulls on Dec. 19, the Thunder improved to 13-0 at home this season, becoming the first team in the
NBA to do so since the Cleveland Cavaliers accomplished the feat in 2008 (opened the season 23-0 at home). The Thunder jumped-out to its best home
start in the Oklahoma City era (the Thunder had never gone better than 3-0 at home to begin a season) and the 13-0 home start to the season equaled
the longest in the all-time history of the franchise (the OKC franchise started the 1976-77 season 13-0). By defeating the Timberwolves at home on Dec.
1, the OKC franchise claimed a “sweep” of a six-plus game homestand for just the second time in the all-time history of the franchise (swept sevengame homestand from 12/30/77 – 1/15/78).
66ers Connection: Once again during the 2013-14 season, the Thunder’s D-League affiliate, the Tulsa 66ers proved to be a vital part of the player
development process for the Thunder franchise. Since the Professional Basketball Club, LLC. purchased the Tulsa 66ers in 2008, Tulsa has seen 14
different Thunder players compete as a member of the 66ers. On Nov. 1 of this past year, the 66ers selected eight players in the 2013 D-League Draft,
including top overall selection, Grant Jarrett (the Thunder secured the NBA draft rights to Jarrett during the 2013 NBA Draft). This past season, Andre
Roberson was assigned to the 66ers on eight occasions. Additionally, the Thunder twice signed Reggie Williams to a 10-day contract in addition to
signing Mustafa Shakur to a 10-day contract. On Apr. 7, the Thunder signed rookie Grant Jerrett to a contract. Jerrett’s signing represents the ninth callup all-time between the 66ers and the Thunder.
January 31 in Brooklyn: After leading by as many as 32 points, the Thunder recorded a 25-point road victory on Jan. 31 after holding the Nets to an
All-Time NBA-low of just 17 rebounds. During the game, the Thunder led by 28 points at halftime (second largest halftime road lead in the OKC era)
before going onto finish the night shooting 63.6% from the field (highest field goal % shooting game in the NBA this season and a Thunder record
during the OKC era). The Thunder defeated the Nets in large part due to a combined shooting performance of 22-of-24 from Kevin Durant and Serge
Ibaka. Ibaka’s perfect 12-for-12 shooting night is a Thunder record (Kevin Durant held the previous record after shooting 9-for-9 on 2/1/09 at SAC).
One of a Kind Performance…Really: In the Thunder’s outing on Dec. 1 versus the Timberwolves, Kevin Durant delivered a performance that had
never been seen before. On the night, Durant recorded his fourth career triple-double with 32 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high 12 assists. By also
adding four blocks and four steals, Durant becomes the first player with 32+ points, 10+ rebounds, 12+ assists, 4+ steals and 4+ blocks in the same
game since blocks and steals became official stats during the 1973-74 season.
Christmas Day: In the first meeting of the season between New York and Oklahoma City, the Thunder claimed a 123-94 victory on Christmas Day in
Madison Square Garden. The 29-point win represented the largest margin of victory for a visiting team in the more than 200 Christmas Day games
played in NBA history. Despite not playing in the 4th quarter, Russell Westbrook became the eighth player to record a triple-double on Christmas Day in
NBA history. Westbrook joined John Havlicek (1967) and LeBron James (2010) as the only players to record a road triple-double on Christmas.
Comeback for the Record Books: After surrendering a season-high 73 first half points to the Rockets on Jan. 16, the Thunder responded by limiting
Houston to an all-time franchise-low of just 19 points in the second half. In the second half, the Thunder limited the Rockets to 19.4% shooting as
Houston shot 0-of-14 from 3-point range. The Rockets became the first team in NBA history to not score 100 points after recording 70+ points in the
first half and the -54 point scoring differential from one half to the other was the largest in NBA history.
