These control systems can start with a programmable logic controller (PLC) or
personal computer controlling a single machine or small process. The control
systems can include high speed data collection, recipe based batch processing,

From Concept . . .
At Pinnacle Automation, automation control system engineering begins at the plant floor with an
evaluation to determine safety and production requirements.
Once personnel safety and production needs are determined, a control type – PLC, embedded
controller or personal computer – can be selected. Functional safety devices are integrated into
the control design from the onset of the project so that you can be assured that personnel safety
has been addressed and process integrity is maintained.
Standard off the shelf components are used whenever possible to provide a control system that can
be easily maintained for years after the initial purchase. Every Pinnacle Automation control
system is fully documented including complete system electrical schematics, network drawings,
P&ID (for process industry), computer setup documentation, annotated PLC control programs,
HMI programs and conduit & cable schedules to support your control system
in-house
maintenance.
Computer Based HMI and SCADA Systems
If your process requires more than basic equipment control, Pinnacle Automation can provide
personal computer based Human Machine Interface (HMI)
and Supervisor Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA)
packages with software including
Rockwell Software
FactoryTalk View® and Siemens WinCC®. These HMI
packages permit detailed graphical displays modeled after
your equipment or process that
provide operators an
intuitive graphical user interface view of critical process variables.
HMI screens can also be configured for bilingual operation. The
HMI at the Operator Station can utilize pictures or drawings of the
actual equipment to show the location of problems as they occur.
Diagnostic displays can include in-depth troubleshooting guides
along with hydraulic and electrical schematics. The software can
provide data logging and the ability to generate on-screen trends of
selected process variables. With plant network connectivity, operators and plant floor supervisors,
as well as managers can have a detailed window into the process from any network connected
computer. Access can also be extended to desktops via web browser and even to hand-held
devices for mobile access, which can be a huge time savings for maintenance personnel.

. . . To Project Realization
Once your control system has been designed, our in-house manufacturing begins.
We can build PLC control panels, AC or DC drive panels, junction boxes,
solenoid panels, operator stations, HMI panels, control consoles and small
custom industrial machines. Once the manufacturing process is complete,
the entire system is powered up and tested to verify proper operation of all
hardware and software components. The test results are then compared to the
original design criteria for compliance. This manufacturing concept ensures technical continuity
from concept to commissioning and into production on your plant floor.
Support
We believe in forming partnerships with our customers based on a foundation of trust and
dependability. This is why we offer services designed to minimize
downtime, helping to keep our customers productive and
competitive.
Our services include onsite supervision, training, and
commissioning, as well as phone support. During each phase of
the project, your operations and maintenance personnel will have the opportunity to learn every
detail of your new control system. They can be trained in formal classroom sessions or provided
“On the Job” training.
