Rumors of a Short Run build by GM later this year…
Ben & Anne Christiansen’s new ride
… pretty nice & clean looking car …I
have always liked these low boys…
Our goal is to have
some kind of function
every month. If you
can help with the
introductions or
locations, that would
be most appreciated.
The club will have 10 booths again this year…
open to everyone, so if you have some stuff to sell
and don’t want the commitment of a whole booth,
then bring your stuff to the club booth. There is
always someone around to watch the stuff, bring a
few extra chairs, we could even have coolers in the
trailer for storing your lunch …
MINUTES - P.I.S.R.A. MEETING HELD AT MILNER HALL - APRIL 9, 2015
Doug Curran welcomed all 24 members in attendance. Doug read previous months' minutes and
Dianne Newman noted that the info was incorrect re SVABC - no decision was made at our March
Meeting.
Swap Meet Notes from Ron Wenger & Kyle Hawkins:
1) 155 volunteers to date and most slots filled.
2) 5,000 Trader Cards were made and 2,500 were shipped to business people coming to Swap Meet.
Another 2,000 cards have been ordered. Kyle has some trader cards and posters for our members to
distribute.
3) There will be a Swap Meet posting on Craig's List. (4) Les Shaw will be picking up the Golf Carts.
5) 27 car clubs will be advertising the Swap Meet
6) Consideration is being given to allow the Motor Cycle people to use the Tradex wing that is not
being used by the Swap Meet. Coastal Swap Meet Executive will decide.
7) As of April 4th, there are 335 inside vendors, 225 outside and 5 in the corral. There are 27 brand
new vendors.
8) Kyle Hawkins made a motion to scrap the charity table at the Swap Meet.
This was seconded and approved.
9) a - Ben Christensen asked if the insurance for the Shamrock Trailer and Car Trailer will be
renewed prior to the Swap Meet. Dianne answered that she was aware that these two insurance
policies were coming up and will ensure both insurances are renewed. Last year Rob looked after
these two insurance renewals and no copies were given to Dianne - as of right now, Dianne will have
to wait until renewal forms come in the mail before payment for 2015 can be made. Dianne
previously talked to Rob on this but has not received said papers.
9) b - Ben will get the Shamrock Trailer and bring it to the Swap Meet. He has made arrangement to
park the trailer the night before.
10) Doug Curran reminded members that we have paid for 10 booths at the Swap Meet, so members
were encouraged to sell items.
The Treasurer Report was given by Dianne and approved by
all members.
The Membership Report was given by Grant Chitty - as of
April 9th we have a total of 52 paid members. Of the 52,
7 are new members. There are 9 members from last year
who have not renewed.
Grant also reported that there was no correspondence
when he checked the Club mailbox on the 9th.
SVABC - A motion was made by Doug Curran for PISRA to join SVABC as we have done in the past.
This was seconded by Kyle and approved by all members.
To this end, Grant Chitty volunteered to be the SVABC Co-ordinator for PISRA. Dianne gave Grant
the paperwork downloaded from SVABC together with a blank (signed) cheque as he has all the
information required as Membership person. The total cost for 2015 will be $310.00: $50 registration
+ $5 per member (52) equalling $310.00 - using current membership numbers.
Tour Information: Ken Sanders gave a detailed report on the US Tour - info was also in our April
Street Beat. Bob Vanderberg will be sending out e-mails re Otter Co-Op Country Car Show - Doug is
not cooking, only displaying the Car-B-Q he made; On April 25th: Mt. Vernon in the a.m. and
April Fools Cruz-in in Bellingham; and then the Poppy Run on May 3rd. Watch for the e-mails which
will include directions.
BRADNER EVENT - Sunday, August 30th (Bob Vanderberg reported )
1) PISRA member cars are not eligible for awards - just a reminder.
2) Wilkins Grill (same people as last year) is booked for food - they now have a bigger food truck.
3) Music has been booked.
4) Trophies this year will be plaques and winners will have a picture of their car which will be put into
the plaque before the plaque is given to a winner. Ken Sanders will be taking pictures.
5) Trophy Sponsors cost will be $50.
6) Door prizes are needed and Bob requested that each one of us try to bring in a prize article.
7) Bob is also investigating T'Shirts and Dave Campbell said he was bringing samples to our next
meeting as he has some contacts.
Ron Wenger went to a Lordco Trade Show and talked to several dealers. He had the opportunity to
hand out 35 letters asking for donations/prizes for our Bradner Event. Ron also talked to the
Meguire's representative that he dealt with last year and she indicated we will have goodies for both
this year and next. Well done Ron!
Barb Gaszo asked if anyone was coming to the Bradner May Day Parade. Several members
responded.
Ron is looking for a Aluminum Rod & Piston to make a trophy for our 45 Anniversary in 2016.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
Dianne Newman, substitute secretary

1st Place Best Unfinished at the Car Show last month … pretty kool to have a trophy
as it shows the rest of the hobby feels the same way ….
April Fool’s Run – Jeckyl & Hyde Pub Bellingham
What started out as a gloomy day soon turned
into a perfect afternoon… the clouds went south
and the sun came out to play. Six cars from our
club made the 20 mile trip to Bellingham . The
run was hosted by the Whatcom Country Cruzin
Association and made the perfect stop after a stop
At the Mt Vernon Swamp Meet … yes, no spelling
Mistake here… I didn’t make it that far south but
we heard the rains were coming down. It was
rumored they were going to cut the event short as most of the booths are outside.
At the run, over 44 cars showed up for the Show & Shine, from muscle cars to off road
thunder bugs, from Hotrods to completely stock … it was a nice cross section of cars.
Our club cleaned up in the hardware dept….
Bill Lemon – Best 30’s Les Woodward – Best Engineered Rob Petty – Best Interior
Grant Chitty – Judges Favorite Pick & Rob Petty – Best of Show …
Here is the final version of our Run Poster…
Jason at Stylus did a great job on this one. It
has the country feel along with the modern
rat rod / hotrod flare of our hobby today…
Next will be the work on dash plaques and Tshirts … this poster looks really good on a
black or dark background…
