Budget Newsletter
April 2015
Our Library occupies a unique and important place within the Plainedge community. It offers
print and electronic information , along with all kinds of services and all types of informative
and entertaining events. It offers a place to think and ponder, to develop long-term visions and
goals in a setting devoted to ideas and discovery. We continually aspire to provide the best
possible resources and programs to help residents of all ages to learn, participate, connect, and
discover. We do not know what the Library of the Future will actually be like, what new resources
will be developed or what special services will be needed by our residents . Whatever the future
may bring, the Trustees and staff of the Plainedge Public Library stand ready to serve our
community.
This issue of our newsletter contains information on the proposed 2015/2016 Library Operating
Budget. Much time and effort has been devoted to developing an effective budget with the goal
of keeping costs down while continuing to provide the best possible library service. There will be a
public hearing on the proposed 2015/2016 Library Operating Budget on Monday, May 11th at
7:00 pm in the Local History Room. We welcome your comments, questions, and suggestions.
