Chinese Brush Calligraphy
Introducton of Chinese Callligraphy:
The local name for calligraphy is Shūfǎ (书法)in China, literally "the way/method/law
of writng". The calligraphy of Chinese characters is an important and appreciated
aspect of Chinese culture. Chinese calligraphy is normally regarded as an "art" of
writng. To treat it as a practce of writng the Chinese characters, learners may
imitate the exemplary pieces of writng without aspiring to artstc creaton. To treat
it as an art, learners may appreciate the calligraphic works for aesthetc purposes.
COURSE OVERVIEW:
The course of Chinese Brush Calligraphy is intended for those who have some
profciency of the Chinese language and want to practce writng Chinese characters
with brush. The calligraphy course will focus on the basic skills of writng the strokes
of the Chinese characters, writng of complete characters, writng of some short
ancient Chinese poems, some basic writng styles of the calligraphy, and appreciaton
of the writng art with brush. This course will be fnished within 30 hourss. Each hour
will last 45 minutes. Class actvites include learning the writng skills, practcing
writng with ink, and appreciatng samples of the Chinese calligraphy.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Students will learn how to write the basic strokes of the Chinese characters．
Students will learn how to write a complete character．
Students will learn some styles of the Chinese calligraphy.
Students will learn some ancient Chinese poems.
Students will have a chance to appreciate the aesthetc art of writng Chinese
characters.
 At the end of the course, an atendance certfcate will be ofered to the learners.





