Eight Easy "Booth" Steps To
BOOTH SALE - LEADER INCENTIVES!!
170 Boxes = SUCCESS!
Did you know that the average 4-hour Booth Sale in Suffolk County sells 170 boxes of cookies? That equals success!
Booth Sales are a great way to help your troop meet its financial goals and help Girls achieve their individual goals, too. The
cookies sold at a Booth Sale should be equally divided among all Girl Scouts who participate in the sale. The Girls can then use
those cookie points toward receiving the award(s) that they want. Holding Booth Sales also gets you closer to making the 21st
Century Super Troop Award (see page 6).

Have the Girls in Uniform. Smile! Share the troop's goals with customers.
Involve a lot of Girls, share the work and the rewards!
After booking a Booth Sale, make a schedule of the hours that you will be selling and invite all of your Girls to sign up! Let Girls
commit to a 1 to 2 hour time slot. That spreads out the work and allows more Girls to share in the cookie points generated
from the sale.

Girl Scouting teaches girls to connect with and care for their community. Our Council's
special project "Cookies for the Community" will focus on areas of need. Girls should
be encouraged to ask each customer to buy one extra box of cookies to be donated
to either the local food pantry, or to the service men and women stationed overseas
through "Operation: Cookie". (See page 11 of this book for more information.)
Walk-About Weekends:
Your neighbors want Girl Scouits to
ask them to buy cookies.
On Saturdays and Sundays in April — Join Girl Scouts of Suffolk County, by doing
a walk-about sale in your neighborhood. Have your whole troop participate
to increase your troop's cookie sale profit and earn additional points toward
your girls' cookie recognitions and leader booth sale incentives. See page 10
for more information. Girls and adults can go door to door selling cookies in
their neighborhood - Girls and adults can receive a gift. Call the product sales

•
Please give each girl an "Operation: Cookie" form* to give to a business or special donor.
•
When a girl receives an order for cookies plus an "OC" donation, she can collect money for all of
the cookies at the time of delivery.
•
When a girl receives a donation only from a customer, she should collect the money at the time
the order is placed.
•
"Operation: Cookie" donations should be recorded in the first, white column of the girls order card.
•
When girls turn in their order cards, record the "Operation: Cookie" donations on the 3-part report
form you were given.
•
Note how much money each girl collected in advance and how much is still due.
•
The cookies ordered for this campaign are not to be included with your initial cookie order. (You
will not actually receive these cookies. They are shipped directly from the bakery to the military.)
•
Please deposit all funds collected when the orders were placed on one of the four deposit slips
you were given with your troop number on them.
•
Mark the slip "OC", and attach it to the white and yellow copy of the O:C report form.
•
Forward the report form and deposit slip to your SU cookie manager with your initial order or
send it directly to the Council's Commack office.
•
In March when girls deliver cookies to customers who have also donated boxes for "Operation
Cookie" the girl should at that time collect all funds due. You can deposit these funds with the
traditional cookie funds on another deposit slip.
•
Girl Scouts will track your deposits and record your troop's donations in April, and mail you a
check for the $.60 rebate for each box in late April.

OPERATION: COOKIE & WALK ABOUTS
Sell 50 or More Boxes and You Also Get An Award(s)!
Each girl is encouraged to ask every cookie customer to donate a box of cookies to "Operation: Cookie".

a diet or buy their cookies from a Girl Scout in another council. Giving people the opportunity to donate
to such a noble cause makes them feel good. This campaign lasts throughout the cookie campaign, from
January through May.
