Live, Bleed, & Safe Area When creating art there are 3 main areas to consider: live, bleed, and safe. Live area is the actual area of the item to be printed. Bleed is the size you need to create the artwork(bigger than live). Safe area is the area that will be visible no matter how much shifting. Every printed item has a margin of error (margin of shifting). When creating art for skateboard decks an extra .25inch of graphic area is required to compensate for the possible shifting. We have labeled the layers for live area and bleed. Please remember the possible shifting(.25) that can occur when putting important design elements near the edges of the live area and near truck holes. Spot & Process Color Reproduction If you are creating art for spot color printing please use the Pantone Solid Color swatch library for best color matching. If you are creating art that will be reproduced by process or digital printing use CMYK colorspace for closest color approximation. More Information We do our best to advise of possible art issues but a thorough understanding of the print process will help you to create the best final printed product.
