In the ever-important crusade to stop the sop comes this kind-of-ingenious solution from father-daughter duo Jeffrey and Lily Smith. The fix? Puffy-boot fans, meet your savior: the Homage boot wrap, which are liners that pop onto soles of standard boots à la plastic phone covers. The future is now, folks — who knew that one day you'd be able to match your iPhone to your UGG? Created in Santa Barbara, California — not a locale exactly known for its rough winters — these wraps will protect your stompers from filth and dirt. But, if you're blessed enough to live in a less temperate climate, we're assuming these probably won't combat those foot-deep scum-slush pools and snowdrifts. In a variety of colorways including spots, neons, and jewel tones, the liners range in price from $29.95 to $34.95. If you're into the Homage wrap (or know someone who would be), find the sole savers exclusively at Nordstrom.com. If anything, they exacerbate it. 38 • Reply • Share › Refinery 29 Mod sam_the_cat • 16 days ago Touche. 12 • Reply • Share › tbh sam_the_cat • 14 days ago Yeah, I thought that was what this article was going to be about. 2 Guest • Reply • Share › 16 days ago • No. Please no. I hope this post is sponsored because this product actually makes UGGS uglier. 20 1 Trish • • Reply • Share › 14 days ago These are ridiculous. Ugg's biggest problem is that they RIP THE ACTUAL SKIN OFF SHEEP to make their shoes instead of just shearing them. And who wants shoes that need a cover anyway? Way to create problems to sell more things. Stupid. 7 • Reply • Share › Guest Trish • 14 days ago Agreed, I thought when the title of the article said they were solving Ugg's biggest problem it was going to have something to do with making them with artificial outer leather. 3 Em • • Reply • Share › 16 days ago Nope. Still ugly - and not in a hip, ironic, iconic or stylish way. This is the power of marketing and its ability to make people want something even though its overpriced, under styled and over hyped. 7 • Reply • Share › Tiffany Em • 16 days ago I don't like my shearling boots for being hip/ironic/iconic/stylish in any way, shape or form. I like them because they are easy to put on and warm in the frequent sub-zero temps that we have in MN. :) 16 • Reply • Share › traceytlw Tiffany • 16 days ago Same here, Tiffany. I don't love them because I think they're cute. I live in Texas, we don't get a lot of the snow and such but it does get cold. They're super easy to slip into for running up to the school or out to the store. I make no apologies. LOL And I too buy a knock-off version. :) 1 • Reply • Share › www.refinery29.com/2013/12/59262/uggs-cover#slide-1 2/6 1/2/14 UGG Boot Covers - Homage Wraps lulu c Tiffany • 14 days ago Amen Tiffany. It is what it is!! • Reply • Share › Phillygurl 16 days ago • Love them! Already have them in leopard, and going back for neon as soon as they're in KoP store. Working great during all this snow too! 5 • Reply • Share › MissEmmySue 14 days ago • Ugly just got uglier... 3 • Reply • Share › gwynthfair • 16 days ago I have fake Skechers 'Uggs'. They do not get soggy and wet. And cute or not they are necessary for a Wisconsin winter. 3 • Reply • Share › Robin McClanahan • 16 days ago Been wearing UGGS since before they became trendy and then stopped being trendy and then came back or whatever. (Does that make me an UGG hipster? Ugh.) I've never worn them for their looks, but because they're warm and convenient. 2 • Reply • Share › Lola Del Rey • 16 days ago i have a pair of lynneas and only because they look nothing like uggs 1 • Reply • Share › Tiffany • 16 days ago This is great. While Uggs aren't the most beautiful shoe ever (I wear the economical, and locally made, version from Minnetonka Moccasins), in the frozen tundra of MN they are perfect things to easily slip on to wear between places to keep your keep warm (heels are simply impractical). These liners will be welcome to keep my boots clean and dry! 1 lulu • Reply • Share › • 14 days ago Connie, get a life and stop being a hater on one brand. All the time you have something to say about this one brand. Can't you find another story… is it that weak out there. 3 • Reply • Share › Ugg h8r • 5 days ago They're called UGGS for a reason. *cough* They're ugly *cough* • Reply • Share › fixitfixitfixitfixit • 12 days ago That these are somehow warmer and more convenient than other boots for cold climates is not an excuse for their ugliness. There are plenty of far more attractive boots, many of them cheaper, that are just as warm because they, too, are lined with wool. Don't give me that excuse. I will never think it's okay to wear a ratty, soggy pair of Uggs any farther than the front yard to pick up a paper or put out the trash, or to shuffle down to the front door to get a food delivery they are glorified slippers that don't belong out in the world. • Reply • Share › Sarah • 14 days ago This is a perfect product. Because I just feel like Uggs don't make my feet look enough like the feel of Frankenstein's monster. I really need to add bulk and make them even more unflattering and hideous. And since now they'll be even hotter, my feet will sweat even more! www.refinery29.com/2013/12/59262/uggs-cover#slide-1 3/6 1/2/14 hotter, my feet will sweat even more!
