That meeting included members of our parish team, pastoral council, finance council, school advisory council, school faculty, and administration. Under the competent guidance of Ron Holverstad, we reviewed our parish Mission Statement, our Vision Statement, and our Values and Goals. We also revisited the survey results from last spring and identified the following areas to investigate and develop further. Technology—Outreach—Family Faith Formation—Stewardship Parish Today we share our plans for Adult Faith Formation and Stewardship. FAMILY FAITH FORMATION At this point, this is the least developed and most challenging goal. We do have Sacramental family processes and formation for First Penance and First Eucharist. Our high school Confirmation program also has some “family” components. We are also in conversation with the other parishes in our Deanery, seeking ideas and success stories. If any of you have had good experiences from elsewhere and are willing to share, please send your ideas to our website. STEWARDSHIP We would like to see Stewardship at Presentation as a Way of Life—where stewards see everything good as a gift from God. Our goal is for all parishioners to do their fair share in supporting our parish activities by returning a portion of their TIME (in worship), TALENT (in ministry) and tithing of their TREASURE (in support of the Church) to God in thanksgiving for the many gifts He has provided. We invite and encourage parishioners to consider an active prayer life, which includes attending Mass each weekend, making a sacrificial offering to the Lord of their talent by becoming involved in many of our programs and activities, and returning to God a share of the blessings He has given you, by financially supporting the parish. Through stewardship we can make it possible to provide all services at a reduced cost and eventually eliminate fees associated with each of our ministries, including baptism, weddings, funerals, religious formation and school-related costs. Sienta la sanación… Gospel: Mark 14:1—15:47 Adults: When have I found it hard to accept God’s will? What helped me to accept God’s will? Children: When is it hard to obey? Why? STEWARDSHIP REFLECTIONS Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion This weekend we participate in the proclamation of the passion and death of Jesus according to the Gospel of Mark. We are witnesses to Jesus’ undeterred obedience to the Father, which comes at great sacrifice. An important part of Christian stewardship is the willingness to make sacrifices that reveal our own embrace of Jesus’ cross. Over these next days of this most Holy Week, reflect on this question: As good stewards of our life in Christ, what concrete sacrifices are we willing to make to witness God’s love to the world? del 17 de abril al 19 de abril El Retiro del Viñedo de Raquel es un lugar seguro para renovar, reconstruir y redimir corazones rotos a causa del aborto. There is a four-day required training in June. The training will be out of town; travel expenses will be provided. The health ministry works to expand the parish community’s knowledge about wellness and increase access to health services. Clinics are held one Sunday per month. The clinic provides blood pressure checks and other health screenings. Flu shot clinics will be held each fall, and monthly reports will be required. The nurse will also be responsible for developing a health ministry committee. For more information, call Deacon Mike Navarec, Sr., at 209-474-0474.
