Introduction
Objectives:
The project contest provides an excellent
opportunity to the students to showcase their talent,
research orientation and untapped potential. The
goal of this competition is to prepare the future
generation of engineers not only problem solvers but
to be innovative leaders and responsible citizens.
The student deserves recognition of the amount of
hard work done for the project. Project enables
students and faculty to transform their learning into
knowledge, knowledge into action, action into
practice. Technical project competition allows
students to practice soft skills while reinforcing their
engineering knowledge. The contest helps students
to consolidate their knowledge and professional
skills. They have the opportunity to improve soft
skills such as communication, presentation,
teamwork and problem-solving and technical
abilities beyond boundaries. The project contest
gives students a lot of knowledge and inspired them
to try and improve academic activities to enhance
knowledge and skills, prepare them for industry
readiness. This may results to turn engineering
projects into prize winning entries and may
transform project into commercial product.
Target group
The proposed Technical Project Competition is
recommended for students (UG, PG) from
Production Engineering, Mechanical engineering,
Automobile
Engineering,
Instrumentation
Engineering, Electronics and communication
Engineering and allied branches.
Keynote address:
Keynote lectures by industry experts on the recent
trends in engineering. Special lectures by experts on
patent filling.
Evaluation:
Participants should bring physical prototype,
working model of the project.
The projects will evaluated by experts from industry
on the basis of innovative concept, novelty and useful
ness. Expert will advise on the suitability of the
project to obtain patent.
Participating teams should bring A0 size poster
containing information of their projects
About the Institute
Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering
and
Technology, Vishnupuri, Nanded was
established on 17 December 1981. The Institute is
now enjoying autonomous status and is cent percent
aided by the Government of Maharashtra. Hon. B.
N. Kalyani, an eminent industrialist, heading the
Kalyani group of industries, has been nomi nated
as The Chairman of the Board of Management by the
Government of Maharashtra. The Board of
Management consists of eminent industrialists,
academicians and senior administrators from the
Government. This Institute offers ten undergraduate
and seven postgraduate courses in various streams of
engineering and technology. It is a recognized
research Centre for carrying research leading to
doctoral degree in engineering and technology of
SRT Marathwada University, Nanded. It also
conducts Ph.D. programs under TEQIP-II, QIP and
centre of Excellence.
About Department
The department is established in 1984 with an intake
of 30 (UG) students. It has grown in size and stature
and offers undergraduate course of Production
Engineering with an intake of 60 students and
postgraduate course M. Tech. in MechanicalCAD/CAM (intake:25) as well as Ph.D. Programme
affiliated to SRTM University, Nanded. The
department is well equipped with resources like
highly qualified faculty and staff, well equipped
laboratories and workshop, modern facilities for tool
engineering and manufacturing support (design,
analysis and manufacturing), state of art
computational & CAD/CAM facilities
Registration Details:
Registration Fees- Rs. 500/- (for Team of 02
Participants), for additional participant Rs. 300/each,
(limited to two participants). Registration can be
made by sending the application in the format along
with demand draft in favor of ‘The Director,
SGGS Institute of Engineering and Technology,
Vishnupuri, N a n d e d ’ drawn on any nationalized
bank. Accommodation f o r l i m i t e d participants
can be made available on prior request. The
registration fee covers the charges for Breakfast,
Lunch and registration kit.
