The initiative includes best-practices for site hosts on pricing, demand management and operations. In addition to improving EV convenience and supporting adoption, BayCAP is projected to result in the reduction of 1.6 million gallons of gasoline and reduce CO2 by 40 million pounds over the next 10 years while saving EV drivers approximately $6 million in gasoline and maintenance expenses over driving gasoline powered vehicles. Our implementation partners include ChargePoint, ABM, the California Electric Vehicle Alliance and 17 local governments. EV Fleets The EV Fleet Program is advancing EV adoption in local governments across the Bay Area. This includes the two largest all-battery EV deployments to municipal fleets – 50 vehicles in 2013 and 90 vehicles in 2014 across more than a dozen local government agencies including San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland. Funding strategies include innovative lease financing, grants and advanced strategies for guaranteed savings with all-included financing for vehicles, infrastructure and analytics. The program includes the development of nationally-significant best-practices with the region’s leading fleet managers. Fleets provide an ideal way to demonstrate the benefits of EVs and government vehicle fleets account for the largest sector of fleets in the country, with state and local governments accounting for more than 4.1 million cars and trucks alone. The current EV fleet projects are projected to achieve fuel cost savings of $1 million and 3 million pounds of net CO2 avoidance over ten years. Our project partners include Vision Fleet, Schneider Electric, ChargePoint, Metropolitan Transportation Commission and Mike Albert Leasing. CarShare4All In partnership with City CarShare, a San Francisco based non-profit carshare company, this $1 million Metropolitan Transportation Commission funded project provides EV and high-efficiency hybrid carshare alternatives to underserved communities along the BART line in the East Bay. Up to 20 vehicles will be deployed with associated EV infrastructure, including advanced mobile solar-storage charging stations. Carsharing provides a viable alternative to car ownership which saves users money while reducing traffic congestion and parking pressure. The program is projected to displace 200+ private vehicles and save 50 million pounds of CO2 over 10 years. Partners include the Contra Costa Transportation Authority, Schneider Electric and City CarShare is the operational partner. The project was funded by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission with Federal Highway Administration funding from the CMAQ fund. prospectsv.org /prospectsv @prospectSV [email protected] ProspectSV is a nonprofit commercialization catalyst assisting emerging technology companies with a pathway to market, bringing high-impact solutions forward in the Bay Area.
