The 6th Sunday of Easter — May 10, 2015
Prayer to the Mother of the Lord
for All Mothers
Mary, on this day when we honor all
mothers, we turn to you. Please intercede
for all of our mothers. Ask your Divine
Son to give them the grace of surrendered
love so that they may join with you in
giving their own “Fiat.” May they find
daily strength to say yes to the call of
sacrificial love, the very heart of the vocation of motherhood. May their love and
witness be a source of great inspiration for
all of us called to follow your Son. Amen.

Olive Wood Carvings from Bethlehem
-This Weekend
Olive wood carvings are
available to purchase after
our Saturday Vigil and
Sunday morning Masses this
weekend. The proceeds
support Christian Catholic
families in the Holy Land
since it is the major source
of income for them there.
More than 75 families in Bethlehem hand carved these
items. They are very beautiful and unique items
(Nativities, Crucifixes, Rosaries, & Statues).
The Christian population there has dropped from
22% to less than 2% in the past two decades. This is
a way to support their staying in Bethlehem.
Memorial Day
On May 22-23 (Friday and
Saturday) all are welcome to help
out at Mother Joseph Catholic
Cemetery. We need volunteers
to weed, spread bark dust, and
wash head stones.
There will no Mass at Mother
Joseph Cemetery on Memorial
Day (5/25). Instead Mass will be
at the Proto-Cathedral at 9AM on
Monday, May 25th.
Altar Society Membership Drive
Our Altar Society is having a
membership drive on May 17th
during the coffee hours after
masses. Members will be available to
answer questions and provide flyers
with membership enrollment forms.

Jerry Usher is the founder and president of

radio stations and assisting the needs of

various other Catholic apostolates to help
them establish a presence in Catholic media.

Science. He is adjunct professor at Holy
Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, CT, and

EWTN television network. He is the author
of several books and numerous articles. He
is the author of the Question and Answer column in
Homiletic and Pastoral Review. He is the Theological
Consultant to the Institute on Religious Life.
Bill Diss was very involved with a variety of
churches to stop the construction of a large
Planned Parenthood center. His employer, a
public school district, found out about his
work and he became the victim of a great
deal of scrutiny. In 2012, while he was
tutoring students, he was surprised by a visit
from Planned Parenthood employees and
was informed that they would be recruiting children from his
classes. He asked to be excused for religious reasons. The
district denied his requests and removed him from the school
by the Human Resources Director, two administrative
officials and a Portland police officer in 2013. His story has
been told on many internet news services, Oregon television
stations and on FOX national news. He is now being
assisted by a labor law firm hired by the union and lawyers
from Life Legal Defense Fund.
Full conference details coming soon.
