Special Thank you to our Committee and Volunteers
Hosting ASAA Provincials is something that W.R. Myers High School is very proud of. We are thankful for
the opportunity to showcase our athletes, our school and our love for Basketball. To pull off an event of this
caliber requires many hands. We have had well over one hundred volunteers along the way. Thank you to the
Planning Committee, Chair Persons, Teachers, Parents and people of Taber and Barnwell for making this
weekend so successful.

The Edmonton Christian Lions are excited to be back at the 3A Provincial Championships and look forward to a great tournament hosted by
W.R. Myers and the Taber community. Coming off a strong year last year as the 3A Provincial Champions, the Lions hope to continue the
strong effort and success this year with 8 returning players from that team. Playing in the very competitive Edmonton Metro Premier Division,
the Lions are challenged by many of the best 4A teams in Alberta during league play. This experience helps develop the team and program to
strive for excellence in every game. The team's record this season is 20 - 7

The Lady Lakers have had an excellent season. They participated in a number of competitive tournaments.
They finished first in the Rocky View League season and then won the Divisional Championship. This past weekend the team had to go the back route to
qualify for zones. after being upset in the semi-finals. They won three games in 24 hours to qualify for the 2nd spot from the South Central Zone. The
Lady Lakers had to battle hard to earn this spot in the Provincial Championship. The team is proud to represent the South Central Zone in their 18th
Provincial Championship appearance. The coaches and players are appreciative of the effort of all volunteers in making this tournament a reality.

The Holy Rosary Raiders have had a very exciting season, winning 3 tournaments, Zones and 23 games with hard work and a lot
of grit! We don't have a league, so practice all week and play only on weekends, mostly in and around Edmonton. We rely on
defence and love being the underdogs and proving that 8 girls can run hard and never run out of gas! We are very excited to visit
Taber and make our 3rd consecutive trip to Provincials!

The Wolves have had a strong season entering provincials with a record of 24-4. The season opened in Edmonton where the girls won the McNally tournament. The following
weekend the Wolves finished 3rd at Sturgeon after losing in the semi finals to a very good Taber team. After Christmas break, the Wolves placed 2nd in both the Louis St.
Laurent tournament and their own home tournament losing close games to St. Joe's (Edmonton) and Holy Rosary respectively. In February the Eastglen Blue Devil Classic pitted
the Wolves against zone rivals Parkland Pacers. Despite missing some key players, the Wolves put in a gutsy effort all weekend and were triumphant securing 1st place seeding
for the zone tournament. February also saw the girls lose their 4th game of the year in Lloydminster vs. their nemesis Holy Rosary. At the zone tournament, Morinville faced a
determined Athabasca team in the final but having upset Parkland in the semis, EPC didn't have enough left in the tank to tame the Wolves. The Wolves showed resilience and
fought back from a 1st quarter deficit to defeat Athabasca 50-37 and win the North Central zone title.

The Bowness Trojans have been working hard to rebuild their athletics program since the opening of a new high school nearby
reduced their student enrollment by half. The team competing here is a young team of primarily grade 10's who have competed
well against older and more seasoned opponents all season. This team competes with dedication, heart and integrity each and every
time they step onto the court.
