President’s
Message
Great job!
A huge “thank you” to our National Specialty chair, Amy
Burnett, the show committee, the trophy sponsors, the ex-
Spring
2014
hibitors, and everyone who has contributed to the success
of the 2014 PSCA National Specialty and the Regional.
Much time and energy went into the planning of this event
and it couldn’t have been done without the support of you,
the PSCA members. The show results are located later in
this newsletter.
Start making your plans to attend the 2015 National Specialty at the Sunflower Cluster in Valley Center, Kansas, on
Sunday, April 5, 2015. Kim Rice is the chairwoman, and
preparations have already begun. If you would like to be on
the specialty committee, please contact Kim. More information will be coming soon.
Just to remind you, if you plan to hold a supported entry or
a regional show in your area, you must have the approval of
the PSCA board of directors. Application forms are located on the website. Plan well ahead because time constraints are in place by the AKC.
Sincerely,
Kathy

Members present: Kathy Burger, Sarah Herring, Karen Majka, Ila McLaughlin, Kim Rice, Ann Shepard, Betty Wathne, Jean Pero.
Member Absent: Whitney Coombs
Call to Order at 2008 hrs eastern
Opening Remarks: Kathy read a note from Ila stating that she is resigning as a member of the BOD. Ann nominated Sue Snyder as
a replacement for Ila on the BOD. Sarah seconded the nomination and the motion passed. Sue was not available for this meeting.
Approval of Minutes from BOD meeting on 10/20/2013: Karen read the minutes. Betty made a motion to approve the minutes as
read. Ann seconded the motion and it passed.
Treasurer’s Report: Karen reported that there is $15,132.29 in the regular account. She stated that there is an additional $603 in
checks ready to deposit. She also stated that there is $1413.98 in the rescue account.
President’s Report: Kathy reported the following:
Agility Licensing: We have been approved to hold agility trials.
Committee Descriptions: Kathy is working on the descriptions.
Website Liaison: Cindy Wilmouth has volunteered to be the Liaison.
Outside parties have asked to link to or advertise on our website. We will not be allowing advertisers to link or put ads on
our webpage.
For electronic balloting, we will need to send a release to the members and also find an outside tabulator in regard. It is
probable that our current tabulator will be able to handle the electronic ballots.
Committee Reports:
Membership: Ann reported that we have approximately 72 members at this time. Some 2013 members have not re
newed. A reminder will be sent out immediately via email.
2014 National Specialty: The judge for Saturday has been changed from what was originally agreed upon. It also differs
from what is posted on the AKC website. The club not notified of the change and when it was discovered, it was past the
time that we could get the judge changed.
The club is going to put an ad in the catalog. Kim agreed to put the ad together.
Toni will be finalizing the catering menu.
Kathy is finishing up the pre-registration form for the specialty events.
Sarah will send out a reminder for members to put ads in the catalog.
Unfinished Business:
2015/2016 National Locations: The only submissions for 2015 and 2016 were Valley Center, KS and Concord, NC. 2015
will be in Valley Center, KS and the 2016 specialty will be in Concord, NC.
Judges Selection: Judges will be selected 2 years in advance instead of 3. Jean made the motion to the change. Karen
seconded and the motion passed. The directions for nominating judges will be posted on our website. There will also be
a link to the AKC judges list.
Policy and Form for holding a licensed event: Karen has changes to make to the policy and form.
The club still needs a Sheep Pen editor. Sarah has agreed to complete the next issue. Karen has suggested that we hire
an outside party to produce the Sheep Pen if we cannot get a club member to volunteer.
Motion to Adjourn: Ila moved that we adjourn. Ann seconded and the motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 2108 hrs
