25 March 2015 Dear Parent/Carer Please note the following information with regard to all S4, S5 and S6 pupils wearing blazers next session and also study leave within the SQA National Qualification Examination Diet. FAO current S3, S4 and S5 pupils, parents and carers From 8 June 2015 Queen Anne High School is moving to a single cohort of pupils within the Senior Phase (S4, S5 and S6). Therefore, following the Broad General Education in the Junior Phase pupils will progress into the Senior Phase where they will be regarded as one group and not three distinct year groups. The benefits of this are an increased choice of courses on offer at an increased number of levels for pupils to choose. It also supports more flexible curricular arrangements to support personalised learning. In light of this change all Senior Phase pupils are now entitled to wear a braided blazer from the change of timetable and not just S5 and S6 as previously. Blazer fitting will take place in school on the following dates: Current S4 and S5 pupils: Current S3 pupils: 30 March 27 April 1300 - 1500 0900 - 1030 Blazers are provided by Logoxpres at a cost of £45 with full braid and school badge. Payment is made online via Logoxpres and blazers can be delivered to home or to the school. Full payment information will be given to pupils at the fitting, along with confirmation of their order. FAO current S4, S5 and S6 pupils, parents and carers The last day in school for pupils will be Monday 27 April. Pupils are expected to return for the start of the new timetable on Monday 8 June. Pupils choosing to work in school (having made arrangements with class teachers) throughout study leave should ensure that they are in appropriate school dress. S6 pupils will attend a leavers event on Monday 27 April, period 6 in the dining hall. Pupils will have an opportunity to say goodbye to their friends and teachers. We have had a very high uptake for our Consolidation and Application of Learning (CAOL) Project throughout the two week spring holiday which we hope will encourage learning throughout the two weeks of the holiday and better prepare pupils for their examinations. School dress is not required for those pupils attending the CAOL Project. Fife Education Authority is planning a programme for pupils across Fife who will not be sitting examinations throughout this diet. Pupils will be informed about this as information becomes available. Within Queen Anne High School there are opportunities for learning to begin at the next level for those pupils who have completed National Level 3/4 and are progressing within the Senior Phase. We wish all exam candidates much success and it is essential to remember that this success will come through hard work and personal challenge. For those pupils not returning to Queen Anne High School for the new timetable in June we wish them the very best of luck. Yours sincerely Ruth McFarlane Rector
