Celebrate the Feast of Divine Mercy, Sunday, April 12th, 3-4pm
at St. Ann Church. In 1935, Our Lord Jesus Christ appeared to
Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun of the Congregation
of Our Lady of Mercy. Our Lord presented Saint Faustina with
the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. The Lord promised that whoever
prays the Chaplet would receive extraordinary graces from God.
The Lord Jesus said: “Encourage souls to say the chaplet which
I have given you,...When they say this chaplet in the presence of
a dying person, I will stand between My Father and the dying
person, not as the judge, but as the Merciful Savior...Through the
chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is compatible with My Will.”
On May 23, 2000, the Congregation for Divine Worship and
Discipline of Sacraments declared that the Sunday after Easter
would now be celebrated as Divine Mercy Sunday. That same
year, Saint Pope John Paul II decreed that Mercy Sunday would
be elevated to a universal feast within the Catholic Church.
Divine Mercy Novena Booklets will be available at the doors
of the church after Easter.
The Feast of Divine Mercy will be celebrated at Saint Ann
Parish on Sunday,April 12th at 3:00pm. The service will include
Adoration and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament,
Recitation of the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. All
are invited to join us as we ask for God’s mercy and celebrate the
first anniversary of the canonization of Saint Pope John Paul II.

Holy Week 2015
Dear Parishioners:
The Sacred Triduum, meaning Three Days stands as the high
point of our liturgical year. What occurs on these days are not
three separate liturgies, but one reality that is celebrated over
three days. Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday is
a single liturgical celebration which commemorates the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Within these days,
we journey with Christ, as He completes the work of our redemption.
On Holy Thursday, we commemorate the institution the Holy
Eucharist, a memorial of Christ’s eternal presence. On this evening, we are invited to pray with the Lord, as we contemplate
the mystery of the Eucharist, the Priesthood and the command
to serve one another.
On Good Friday, we remember the Passion of Christ. We recall the pain and humiliation which Christ endured for the salvation of the world. On this day, Christ invites each one of us
to embrace His cross, as a means of our redemption. Through
His sacrifice on the Cross, Christ has transformed despair into
hope and death into new life.
On Holy Saturday, Christians throughout the world are invited
to keep the Vigil of the Lord’s Resurrection. The Easter Vigil is
the crowning of all liturgical celebrations. On this holy night,we
bless the new fire and light the Paschal Candle, symbolizing the
Risen and Glorified Christ. The Easter Exultet is proclaimed,
announcing Mother Church to rejoice in glory, for Jesus Christ
has risen from the dead. The proclamation of Sacred Scripture
recalls salvation history, from the sin of Adam to the discovery of the empty tomb. Through the waters of Baptism, new
members are initiated into the life of the Church. And finally, at
the celebration of Eucharist,we are once again nourished at the
Table of the Lord, the foundation of our very existence.
As we celebrate our first Sacred Triduum as a Collaborative, I invite all parishioners of Saint Mary Parish, Sacred
Heart Parish and Saint Ann Parish to join together to celebrate these sacred days as one community of faith. I pray
that you will participate in some or all the liturgies of the
Sacred Triduum.
God Bless,
Fr. Lou
