QCCS 2015-2016 Term
Welcome to the QCCS family!
My name is Dave Timmons and I am part of the faculty at Quad Cities Christian School.
I would like to welcome you to our school family and introduce myself and my role at
QCCS.
First of all, I teach the Social Studies curriculum for grades 8 through 12. History is my
passion and I do my best to pass my love of the subject on to my students. I have been
blessed to be able to travel to a few odd corners of the world in short-term ministry. I
include my missionary experiences as support material for our textbooks.
In addition to my teaching duties, I am also the Director of International Studies for
QCCS. The International Studies Program is critically important to the financial health of
our school. Each year many students from other nations come to join our student body.
One of the biggest challenges for me is finding host families for these students! Hosting
a student is really a pretty simple ministry. You need to have room in your home and
room in your heart! Host families are compensated financially. So I am not looking for
funding or for volunteers!
I also have an immediate need for host families for a very short term in July. Again this
year, QCCS will host a group of elementary students from China for a Summer
Language and Culture camp. The students will arrive in early July and stay for two
weeks. I am in need of host families for this group. At this time, I am expecting about 45
students and 5 adult chaperones. If you are able to help in this ministry please contact
us promptly. Host families are compensated and daily classes are held here at the
school! It’s hard to believe that July is right around the corner, so please prayerfully
consider this mission and let us know your thoughts!
