Interim Youth Pastor
Narberth Presbyterian Church is currently interviewing candidates for an Interim Youth Pastor.
The ideal candidate will be someone looking for a one year position, with the possibility of
becoming permanent. Primary duties include, but not limit to:





Minister to Youth (grades 6 through 12) and their families; providing meaningful, lifeimpacting discipleship and spiritual foundations for youth, in a high energy, youthrelevant environment.
Develop and maintain a vibrant, active youth ministry characterized primarily by growth
in spiritual depth and secondarily by growth in numbers.
Nurture students in their faith, counsel them through mentoring and discipling
relationships, encourage and train students to live ethical, faithful, humble, and
witnessing lives to the glory of God, and enable them to undertake a life of service to
others, reaching out to friends, neighbors, and beyond through word and deed.
Actively reach out and establish relationships with parents of youth, and undertake
ministry with them – as well as provide ministry and support to them – in their roles as
parents.
Equip volunteers to serve in youth ministry and become effective partners with the Youth
Pastor in all aspects of youth ministry to youth and their families.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and personal traits:










Five or more years of experience in youth ministry
Demonstrated deep knowledge of Scriptures
Able to effectively teach and lead youth in small and large group settings
Exceptional counseling and interpersonal skills
Ability to work cooperatively and supportively with youth, parents, staff, and volunteers
Experience recruiting and developing volunteer youth leaders
Proven supervisory and communication skills, including the use of computers
Possesses college or seminary degree
Trustworthy and demonstrates servant leadership.
Committed to living a faithful, humble, exemplary Christian life.
Ideal candidate will also be able to work in a holistic ministry environment and help to develop a
family ministry model.
