June 13 and 20—Deere-Wiman House Underground - 1:00-4:00
As part of Quad City Museum Week, the Deere-Wiman House is offering special
tours of the Deere-Wiman Tunnel between the house and carriage house. Volunteers are
needed 12:30-4:30 to direct people along the tour route. Signage will be posted describing
the history of the Deere-Wiman House basement and the tunnel. Volunteers will point out
special historical points for visitors to see along the tour route,. A short training session
will be given on June 5th at 3:00p and 6:00p.
June 28—Blossoms at Butterworth—12:00-5:00
Volunteers are needed to help with children’s activities, be room monitors for
Deere-Wiman House & Butterworth Center or bus guides for our annual family event.
Two shifts are available -12-2:30 and 2:30-5:00. No training is necessary for children’s
activities and room monitors. Bus guides need a short ½ hour training prior to the 28th.
Script is provided for the bus tour.
Qualifications Necessary - Just enjoy talking with people!
