Position Purpose:
This role is to perform a number of duties around delivering improved business processes
and business knowledge creation. The incumbent will work closely with the Manager ICT, ICT
Service Level Managers, QAL business analysts and other senior management roles to
identify, document, improve, create and maintain various business solutions utilising
Microsoft solutions and other business systems. It is of utmost importance that the
incumbent has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as this is fundamental to
this role being a success within the QAL business.
Responsibilities:
Analyze complex business functions, gather data and evaluate requirements in order to
determine people and operational objectives.
Review/assess system capabilities and translate complex business requirements into
technology specifications to inform the development or configuration of new programs
and/or systems, including the ability to develop required software tools.
Prepare reports providing summaries and trends and make recommendations to inform
technical design requirements (SSRS)
Provide technical advice and guidance to ICT Services Managers enabling the achievement of
business objectives.
Aggregating data from multiple sources in an efficient data warehouse to design enterprise level solutions for large multi-dimensional databases.

Identifying, design, build, testing, optimizing, and maintenance of a SQL MSBI Stack with
emphasis on SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS
Analyse, design, build and maintain MS Sharepoint 2013 workflows, reporting dashboards
and applications
Analyse, design, build and maintain mobile web applications using Blink Mobility Platform
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Essential:
 4-5+ years hands on experience in Microsoft Business Intelligence stack, including
programming in a MS SQL BI stack and Sharepoint environment

Relational and multi-dimensional database schemas, reporting and analysis

The design and build of ETL solutions

Data Warehouse Modelling including multi-dimensional data models preferably
using data modelling tools such as OLAP Cubes

The application of data mining algorithms

Writing queries; and design of reports

Data Warehouse design

Solid knowledge of Multi-Dimensional Expression (MDX) and SQL Queries

Advanced knowledge of concepts and practices of BI

Understanding and application of Kimball Methodologies

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent program
