Join The Quetico Foundation’s Annual CANOE DAY down the NONQUON RIVER to Lake Scugog Saturday, May 2, 2015, 10:00 a.m . A guided spring paddle through the Nonquon Provincial Wildlife Area and Wetlands just north of Port Perry! THE DAY PLAN: The trip will begin at Kawartha Outfitters, 32 Nonquon Drive in Seagrave, Ontario from where we will be shuttled upstream to the Nonquon Environmental Education Centre and put in the Nonquon for a morning paddle through a variety of wetland, field and forest communities. We will stop at Kawartha Outfitters for a gourmet lunch and refreshments around a cozy bonfire, and then continue down river to Lake Scugog. Shuttle service back to your cars will be provided by Kawartha Outfitters. THINGS TO BRING: Reserve a canoe/kayak & paddling gear when you register, or bring your own. Don’t forget boots, camera & binoculars! Dress for the weather! THE OVERNIGHT PLAN: Please join the Trustees, Trustees Emeriti and Ontario Parks’ officials for a group Dinner (7pm) and overnight at the Admiral Inn & Conference Centre in Lindsay on Friday May 1st following the Foundation’s Annual General Meeting.
