Pew Packers will be meeting tonight following our evening worship service. This is
always a great time of singing, learning, and laughing for the children of our
congregation.
Make sure to check out one of our great Bible classes on Wednesday nights!
John Bowling is teaching in the auditorium on the book of I Thessalonians.
Jim McKelroy is teaching in the fellowship hall classroom on the book of Revelation.
Blake Jones is teaching in the iDisciple room on What it Means to Be a Disciple.
Sunday, April 19th all whose last name begins with D, E, F, G, H or I are invited to the home of Blake
and Rebekah Jones following our evening worship service. The evening is more about fellowship
than food and if you can come, they would be honored by your presence. But if you can’t make it,
they completely understand. Directions are on the bookcase outside of the church office.
Rainbow City
Clean-up Day
Every year we have an opportunity to serve one of our communities by helping with
the annual Rainbow City Clean-up Day. This year the clean up day will be on
Saturday, April 25th from 8-11 a.m. If you would like to sign up to help, Chris Mikle
will have a sign up sheet in the foyer. Thanks!
On Sunday, April 26th, the McCarver Visitation team will be meeting at the home of Craig and
Cindy King. If you are not currently a part of a visitation team you are encouraged to become an
active part of this ministry. You will be glad you did.
On Thursday, April 30th, our Golden Generation Ministry will be meeting for its monthly time of
fellowship in the fellowship hall. If you have any questions about this see Roy Harris.
Saturday, May 2nd, will be our annual S.I.S Day. This is a day of worship and fellowship for the
women of our congregation. It will begin at 10:00 a.m. and conclude with a potluck fellowship.
We are asking all ladies who are planning on attending to bring a dish. There is a sign up sheet
on the hallway bulletin board. This year’s theme is “Caterpillar or Butterfly.” If you have any
questions see Jessica Lasseter.

WORSHIP AT
THE FALLS
We will be having our annual Worship at the Falls
on Sunday, May 3rd! We will be having our
evening worship service and a fellowship meal, so
be making your plans on being with us and invite
your friends and family to come worship with us
that night too! Don’t forget to bring your favorite
homemade ice-cream (and plenty of it). If you have
any questions about this event see Tim Parker.
I’m very excited about the opportunity to attend GO! this year! GO! is a summer camp unlike any
other. The camp is designed for youth groups and individuals, the week will combine interactive
labs, sessions and projects with fun and more. It'll be a chance to connect with other young
people from across the world and together discover what a life of meaningful service can be.
The week is packed with ideas and practical how-to labs. Students will hear from world-changers
and innovative leaders. They'll be connected to and work with other young people who want to
live for God. Through service opportunities, meaningful worship and group discussion they'll
grow deeper in their faith and leave ready to put it into action. GO! Is located on the campus of
Freed-Hardeman University, so your teenagers will also have the chance to see what a Christian
college is like! The cost of this camp is $100 for the week, but I believe it will be well worth the price! If there is anyone
who would like to sponsor a child to go who can’t afford the price, please let Dave know. For more info on the camp, visit
www.fhu.edu/go. GO! Camp is for grades 7th—12th grades and the last day for registration is April 29th, so make sure
you sign up today!
I don’t want to leave our younger campers out! Maywood is for ages 8 - 18. The cost
for Maywood will be $75 this year. This is a great camp that our younger campers
love, so make sure you sign them up on the teen room bulletin board! Note– The
Elders have always wanted to help with the cost of camp and for several years have
made sure at least half the cost is taken care of for the parents. Because the
teenagers (7th-12th) have two camps they can attend this year, we ask if they want to attend both
Maywood & GO!, that Maywood would be paid in full ($150). If only attending Maywood, the cost is still
only $75. Thank you for understanding!

On Saturday, April 11th, Rainbow had a great number of volunteers to take time
out of their day to spend working at the Alabama Chocolate Festival. This year,
we set up tables and chairs underneath a large tent for visitors to sit down and
eat in comfort. There were many people who expressed their gratitude and
appreciation to us for providing this service. Our volunteers did a wonderful job
keeping the area clean, inviting people to visit with us, and passing out cards
with our service times! You definitely left a positive impression with members of
our community! Thank you so much for everyone who supported this event by
donating money, bringing candy, transporting tables, and working the festival!
Each month our Elders take a turn sharing the responsibility of “Elder of the Month”. During that month,
that Elder is the contact person for our flock for any needs that they might have. During the month of
March, David Wallace is the “Elder of the Month” you can reach him at 256-390-2273 (James 5:14)
