Since a square has all equal sides the base and height are the same. Using
the formula A = bh, the Area = 8 x 8. The area is 64 square inches.

Using the formula A = bh, the Area = 10 yards x 40 yards. The area is 400
square yards.

Using A = ½ bh the area is ½ x 3 x 2. The area of the triangle is 3 square
feet.

Your back yard measures 30 feet x 40 feet. What is the area of the back
yard? 30’ x 40’ = 120 square feet.

What is the area of a 9 foot tall square? All sides are 9’ so the area is 9’ x
9’. The area is 81 square feet.
